Does VB have a MyBB migration tool?
And can someone tell me which features VB Forum Only (not Publishing Suite) have that MyBB does not have as I am thinking to migrate from it to VB?
PS. I know I owe a big apology to Marco van Herwaarden and I know he is very nice to accept it! :)

Can you or someone check it for me if impex has MyBB migration tool, from MyBB 1.4.x to VB 3.8.x as I need to know it before buying vb?
Is v.3.8 still available to download if I purchase vb 4.0 forum only (not Publishing Suite) as I don't like vb 4.0 and I want to install 3.8?
ps. to forum admins: please check smtp of this forum as I did subscribe to this thread and did not receive email for the reply above.

great it has MyBB.
what does 1-tier or 2-tier, x-tier mean? can someone explain?
Is v.3.8 still available to download if I purchase vb 4.0 forum only (not Publishing Suite) as I don't like vb 4.0 and I want to install 3.8? What are other older versions than v3.8 still available to download after purchase of v4?
Another question:
I sell my own product and I want set some forums/categories private only to paid users, exactly something like you are doing on vbulletin.org. Is this feature easily available in v3.8 without customization that my vb can validate the contact addresses of my clients in member area of my site and either grant them access or disallow them access and show them as paid or free user exactly just like vbulletin.org?
(however my product is not a php script, but the behavior of forum access is still the same)

they have 3.8.5 right now you can download. only one problem with the forum only option is you only get 30 days of ticket support. buying more ticket support will run more than the Suite price.
you can get lifetime ticket support with the suite and disable the cms and blog.
you can do this with the user ranks and paid subscriptions both default in vB.

I created a demo on vbulletin.com however this is vb4 Suite but I believe I can do the same in v3.8 after purchase. Can you guide me step by step how can I setup the same thing here , I mean adding a contact address in member area and be shown as paid user in forums exactly like what is done here?
Is there some other theme available than default for v3.8?

Any sooner answer please as my demo is expiring in a few days.

Paid Subscriptions are default a feature of vBulletin, see the manual for more information: Paid Subscriptions (http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/subscriptions)
What we do here on vBulleitn.org is not something that is default, as our licensing check ties to a custom customer & licensing registration system running on vBulletin.com.
But if needed a coder might be able to create something for that ties to your licensing system.
PS Responses have been slow as it was almost impossible to post for a day on the vBulletin servers because of an issue in the NOC.

and how much that coder would charge to create it for that ties to my customer area?
and can that coder give me a step by step guide that I can do it myself to not be charged?

You have the option to create it yourself. We have plenty of usefull articles and helpfull members.
What someone would charge to code it for you, will depend on the person and the amount work. Once you have purchased a license you may post a Paid Request to which coders may react.
PS Unless you want to tie the forum access to an external licensing system, there is no need for custom coding.

Is that article to do tie the forum access to an external member area available here http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/? if this is available somewhere, can you give me a direct link to that article?
and can you give me a list of plugins to install, available FREELY in memeber area or in official forums?
Does vb have a project manager feature that users can post bugs and I can set the post as "fixed", "not a bug" etc.?

There is no article on integrating with an external licensing system, as that would be something very specific to your situation, but there are plenty of general coding articles available.
Anything that goes beyond default functionality in vBulletin you will not find in the manual (or on the official site www.vbulletin.com (http://www.vbulletin.com)). Modifications are discussed among members on this site (www.vbulletin.org (http://www.vbulletin.org)).
Nobody can give you a list of plugins to install as that will depend on what you need. But this start to go beyond what i can answer in the Pre-Sales section as i can not go into technical details here.
"Project Manager"? You could use thread prefixes or tags for this, or if you want Project Tools, but you will need to contact sales to see if that is available at this time.

1) Are some other themes available for v3.8.5 than the default one?
2) Can I see screenshot of them?
3) Whenever I got full forum access here after purchase, can yourself or someone help me in technical area forum, guide me how I can modify code myself to tie with my external member area?

I too am a dissatisfied MyBB user. I am currently in the mode of figuring out if this is a doable move. First prob, is I am not very adept in doing web work and I am curious how hard is it to import my present forum into a new vBulletin. I have to do something different because I spend too much time trouble shooting my members problems. Is there some reputable that can do this kind of changeover for a reasonable charge? Please advise,BrentB

Please give more information why you are unhappy with MyBB and why you prefer VB vs. MyBB.

1) Yes, see for example: vBulletin 3.8 Styles (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=237)
2) You can not see the thumbnails until you are licensed, but many will also have a link to a demo site.
3) Yes, this entire site (vBulletin.org) is dedicated to members sharing modifications, styles, resources and knowledge on modifying your vBulletin installation beyond the default.

A migration can be done by yourself, even if you don't have more then basic knowledge. If needed you can get technical assistence using the support system.
You can read more about the import and user experiences (keep in mind that every migration is to some level custom and thus some minor resolvable issues might be encountered) at vBulletin Impex Import System (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/forumdisplay.php?92-vBulletin-Impex-Import-System)

@Marco: and why do you expect that I buy vb without seeing screenshots of some other available themes than the default one, as this is a legal pre sale request? May be you can show screenshots just me?

Sorry but i can not make an exception for 1 user, on our site unlicensed users can not see/download attachments. But as i already mentioned, most will have a link for a demo of the style.

How about current theme used here on vbulletin.org? Is this theme available to download and use?
Marco van Herwaarden

The style used on vBulletin.org is custom and not released. But there are a few look alike's available i think.
nimasdj

When I was viewing style post, I see a table about "released", "install", "download". "last update" etc. Is it a built-in feature that threads containing attchment can use to add this table to the post and also the table in right side about the contributor?
PS. I think I got all pre sale info for now, but I still need some feedback from previous MyBB users why they decided to switch to vb. I posted this in vbulletin.com as a reply to previous MyBB users and no answer yet from them! :(

No those fields are custom on this site and not part of the default vBulletin.

I am sick of explaining to my members why they are "banned" sometimes and can't access other areas sometimes, and why some people have to regenerate a new Password everytime they want to log in.Also it doesn't support ads they way I would like it to. it just seem s to be a superficial get what you pay for BB.vbulletin is just a more polished we thought out BB in my opinion.

You can see some popular styles such as these; 1 (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=214128) 2 (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=218220) 3 (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=214585) the author provides screenshots of what can be accomplished with the vBulletin styling system.
There are also commercial styling websites focussed solely on vBulletin, such as vbskinworks.com and completevb.com

And get those updates :)
