After joining our site, our members get bombarded with a lot of information regarding our site, policies, etc. We have this set up as multiple posts, but our members tend to forget that the posts are there, or (if we use the Force-Read mod) they skip past messages in order to start using the site, and don't actually read the information we've put together.
To help make the information more easy to 'digest', we've considered setting up a mailing list that schedules emails that go to the members a certain number of days after we enter in their email address. In discussing this option, our members are unhappy with receiving email from us, and would prefer to stay on the site to read such information, preferably via PMs or posts.
So we are looking for a solution that works with the PM system.
Here are the things that I'd like to see:
Automatic member addition to the 'list'
Manual entry of members (if they request the information again or if automatic adding isn't possible)
Usergroup permissions (disallow auto adding for members of a certain usergroup, or only allow sending to members of a certain usergroup)
Multiple (unlimited) PMs, each with their own setting for # of days after member subscription to send the email
Multiple 'sets' of PMs, in case we want multiple lists (i.e. one for general members, one for those who pay for subscription, etc)
Statistics to see who has been sent what PMs, who has been sent all PMs, who has read (or not read) the PMs, whose PM box is full
Do not try and send to members whose PM box is full
