View Full Version : Allowing guests to view thumbnails

Well, I searched quite extensively for information regarding this issue and couldn't find the info I needed. Here's the deal.

Members can view thumbnails just fine, but guests only get a link without the thumbnail. I'd like for guests to be able to view the thumbnail image but not be able to view the full image once the thumbnail is clicked.

Check the usergroup setting "Can See Thumbnails" for the Guest / Not Logged In usergroup.

Guys...seriously...does anyone know how I can do this? Why should I have to go elsewhere to find support for vBulletin? I've got a life-time license. Can I get some help here, please?

I have it working on one of my forums, permissions generally set for "Can View thumbnails - Yes", "Can download attachments - No", but you can also do this on a forum by forum basis in permissions (make sure that the user group permissions for that section are not in conflict with the default settings).

On this forum I have download attachments enabled and view thumbnails yes http://www.thamesvalleybirds.co.uk/bird-photos-general/

On this forum I have download attachments to no, but view thumbnails yes http://www.thamesvalleybirds.co.uk/artistic-modified-miscellaneous-photos/

Yeah...so what are you saying? I'm not making a new thread about the same exact thing. I don't see the harm in performing a follow-up after 24 hours. No ones ever told me that it was "wrong" to do that. For me, I do it as a follow-up procedure...nothing more.
