how to connect to other database in vb4 ??

i have many databases in my site , i want to connect to database and get some info to display it in my forum .

in vB3 my plugin was :


include("config_b.php");
$sqlquery = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM `table` WHERE `group_id`='1' ");
while($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($sqlquery))
{
$res[]="<a href=\"$path?id=$row[a_id]\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"$row[a_symbol]\"> $row[a_name] </a>";
}


then i post $res[0] and $res[1] in forumhome and other templates

config_b.php file content :

$db_name="db";
$host="localhost";
$username="root";
$password="";
$connection=@mysql_connect($host,$username,$passwo rd) or dir (mysql_error() );
$db=@mysql_select_db ($db_name, $connection) or dir (mysql_error() );


Now in vb4 i can't do that .. and have Fatal error :

Fatal error: Call to a member function query_first_slave() on a non-object in D:\www\xampp\htdocs\vb04\includes\class_bootstrap. php on line 765

any help ?
