3.7.2 polls functioning incorrectly

Hello,

I'm running 3.7.2 and polls are no longer functioning properly. Symptoms include:

-If you do not put and end date in or type a 0 (which should be never ending), the poll is instantly closed upon creation.
-Any new poll created w/ a thread, is not a part of the thread you just created. It is a part of a very old post from 2005.

Any troubleshooting help is much appreciated.
