Ok, I did this a couple years back successfully, but I am having trouble this time.

I downloaded the German zip for 3.8.4 here http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?109723-DE-German-Language-Pack-Deutsches-Sprachpaket

Then I used Add a new language, to created Deutsch,

then Import Language XML File
EITHER upload the XML file from your computer: I chose the new xml file from my hard drive,

and then in Overwrite Language and selected Deutsch.

But it replaced English with German!

I got the English back, but I still am not sure what went wrong. Is there something with these settings that looks wrong?

Is there a step-by-step guide for this? I cannot find much searching for "language".

Help!

Sure, did that, thanks. Now, how do I add another language? Without overwriting English?

No ones ever done this before?

Ok, I discovered how by accident, I needed to use the ADD ON file, not the MAIN LANGUAGE file. God, sure would have been nice to find some documentation on this.

Yeah, where does it mention anything about add on vs main language?

Manual's badly out of date too, that looks like 3.2 or something.
