I've just noticed Google ads appearing in my forum posts and I didn't put them there.
If i'm logged in as Admin they don't appear, view the thread as guest and there they are.
Is this something in v4 that i'm unaware of or could it be a plugin that I have installed that is embedding these ads?
I'll not be impressed if it's the latter.:mad:

I've disabled all plugins and products but still have same problem.

Have you checked your ads?
AdminCP > Ads > Manage ads? Delete them.

Yeah, there's nothing there at all.

Create a new style with no parent:
Styles & Templates > Style Manager > Add New Style
Parent Style: No Parent Style
Title: Default vBulletin
Allow User Selection: Yes
Save
Then browse the site using that totally default vbulletin style - do you still have the same problem?
If it is still happening - Try disabling your modifications/plugins and see if you still have this problem.
Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php
define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

Problem disappears when I do the above.
Does this mean it is something embedded in the style I was using?

Yeah inside the last post of a thread.
Had a look in SHOWTHREAD but I can't see the wood for the trees and don't know what i'm looking for.
When I check out my page source I can see this:
<div id="ad_thread_last_post_content"><script type="text/javascript"><!--
google_ad_client = "pub-3466134045923773";
/* 300x250, created 10/20/09 */
google_ad_slot = "6024783282";
google_ad_width = 300;
google_ad_height = 250;
//-->
</script>
<script type="text/javascript"
src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js">
</script></div>
<div class="content hasad">
<div id="post_message_9">
<blockquote class="postcontent restore ">
Test post 4.
</blockquote>
</div>
</div>

It's not gonna be in showthread. It would be in whichever postbit template you are using or in the ad template. Did you look to see which ad templates have been modified? Like ad_thread_last_post_content perhaps?

Pinpoint accuracy Lynne.
In ad_thread_last_post_content...
<div id="ad_thread_last_post_content"><vb:if condition="is_member_of($bbuserinfo, 1)"><script type="text/javascript"><!--
google_ad_client = "pub-3466134045923773";
/* 300x250, created 10/20/09 */
google_ad_slot = "6024783282";
google_ad_width = 300;
google_ad_height = 250;
//-->
</script>
<script type="text/javascript"
src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js">
</script><vb:if condition="$adsshown[] = 3"></vb:if></vb:if></div>

Are theme creators allowed to do this here? Especially without declaring it?
Thanks Lynne.

I would have thought not, especially if the ad revenue is going back to their accounts rather than yours. If that is the case, send Google an email, and they'll deal with it.
