A provisional solution to fix this "Reply with Quote" bug, is... to use: [HIDE*][QUOTE*]hidden content[/QUOTE*][/HIDE*] ...by this it's not posible to see the hidden content by "Reply With Quote" anymore, but that's really NO ultimate solution. :mad:

...it's possible that "normal users" are affected too, but this bug was just reported by "Mods&Admins" to us.

Whateva... no matter if just "Mods&Admins", or all usergroups... this bug is really "pain in the ass":( ...same like the other "security gaps" wich make this "Hide Hack" somehow useless.


Also, I've to say.... a coder should always support the users of his add-on and try to fix known bugs of his "product"... no matter if it's for free or users have to pay for... he shouldn't release somethin', without to be ready to make his "product" workin' 100% correct afterwards!

I fixed it.

You have to replace
$hide_read['userid'] = true;
with
$hide_read = true;
in the plugins "MARCO1 Hide BBCODE Functions (M)" and "MARCO1 Print Pages Hide BBCODE Functions"

As far as I can estimate... IT WORKS FINE!

All contents are still hidden... admins can see the hidden content without reply (for Mods I didn't have checked, I'm waitin' for the response of one of our S-Mods... but, no idea why it shouldn't work correct?)
For the "normal users" all works correct too...

I do not have this ^ problem.

I DO get a double line space after each line when NOT hidden. Merely an annoyance. Is there an easy fix? Note that this does not occur when hidden.

I altered the xml import a little bit and added this line of code

so after adding the code you get :

It is a bit of hardcoding because of the (6,7) but can easily be extended with parameters i guess, so basically I added one more count to the sql select which checks if the current user is in group 6 or 7 (mods or admins) and if so, it raises the count, which causes the hidden text being visible regardless the current user replied or not.
this little adjustment fixes the "scalar value" error :)

@rick: since vb4.1.3 the software is using the CK-editor. If you do the template change like posted in the installation text, you will mess up your editior.

Just install the hide-hack exactly like shown in iyama´s reply #331.
Nothing less and nothing more.

you create new tread and then i click on the picture to lock it,a pop-up box comes ,i insert my link ,then you must put some link in between ] ...[/hide] , and when you come and reply , you must refresh the page to see the link!

If I am not mistaken, that edit is obsolete since vB version 4.1.4, when they introduced the ckeditor.

Well looks like is not working right in 4.2.1 , it works, but you can post reply or quick reply,and will not show,unless page is refreshed !.

Right, it will do that for the poster only. If another member navigates to the post it will show.

Ok, the box pop-up is not coming anymore ,by doing this: Use {option} in bbcode,
but now remains why after replying the box will not show,why need to refresh page?...

edit : i updated to vbulletin 4.2.2 and it doesn't show the hidden link to anyone even after replying.

before replying to that thread, it shows this message : "You will have to reply to see hidden content"

and after someone replies to that thread, it shows this message where content is hidden : "Now you can see what's hidden{param}"

Please help anyone, most of the threads on my forum have this hidden code applied and now after upgrading to vbulletin 4.2.2, noone is able to see links whether they reply to the thread or not.

even if i disable this addon from admincp, then also the same condition remains.

please help me to make this addon work on my forum. and if its not possible, atleast help me to uninstall this addon.
i tried uninstalling it and it still shows same red message
