Pages : [1] 2

This modification will allow your members to RSVP to events on the vBulletin calendar. By default, members can respond "Yes," "No," or "Maybe," as to whether or not they will be able to attend an event, but you can modify or add to the list of responses members are presented with as you desire.

Features
Specify some or all of your calendars to use the RSVP system.
Set whether an event accepts RSVPs during event creation / edit.
Allow members to specify if they will be bringing a guest.
Event owners can set the maximum number of guests each member may bring.
Events can be set to close RSVPs on the day of the event or before.
RSVP comments (up to 65k character limit, configurable)
Timestamped RSVPs
Moderators and event owners can remove member RSVPs from events.
Attendance list can be set to display member avatars.
Improved handling of differing timezones and daylight saving times.
Configurable Response options. You aren't stuck with Yes, No, Maybe. You can setup whatever responses you want.
Ability to specify a maximum number of attendees for an event. After the maximum is reached, you can configure members to either receive an error or have their response (RSVP) automatically changed to something else. This could be used to create a wait-list bucket, for instance.Requirements
vBulletin v4.0.0 or higher.

I have a problem... it says RSVPs are closed? I have a RE-OCCURING event that occurs each 2 weeks. here: http://www.brotherhoodofgamers.com/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=2&day=2009-11-29

It says the rsvps are closed, i set to allow rsvps and maximum is 20 and i left it 0 for the time to close the rsvp before event starts... does this need to be fixed in the addon itself or is this something with my site or did i do something wrong?

Thanks.

That is probably because you have selected the day of the recurring event to be November 29th, 2009. You should navigate in your calendar to an occurrence of the event that is on or after the current day.

You can configure the list of responses, yes. I'll write up a FAQ for how to do that.

I can tell by the URL you shared that you are referencing a day in the past. Look at the URL closely: http://www.brotherhoodofgamers.com/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=2&day=2009-11-29. See the day=2009-11-29 at the end? That occurs in the past. If you need further troubleshooting or assistance on this, set me up with an account with access to this calendar and event and send me the credentials via PM.

Weird, it got fixed and I didn't do anything :/

Thanks anyway.

EDIT: Can you make smilies work in it? I just tested it http://www.brotherhoodofgamers.com/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=2&day=2010-2-7&c=1&redirect=1

EDIT: nvm I fixed it by changing date, I mixed up the events and though it fixed itself loll.

Is there a way for this to be integrated within a "special forum" yet, so that an event organiser can have the event details parsed in their 1st post of the thread.

Then attendees are automatically added to that 1st post, or is this way off the beaten track?

Our members love events we have many of them, but they hate using calendars. So something that when you.

1. created a subscribeable event on the calendar, wouldd auto post that event as a thread, and then attendees could subscribe to the event, and their usernames automatically added to the first post would be Stunning !

There is a hack that creates forum posts for events. It is possible that this might be integrated in the future if the developer releases the modification to the community. If not, no, I have no plans to integrate this with forum posts.

This is fab - now if Evercraft would ever update his vB Event Forum mod and we could re-integrate the two, life on my board would be back to normal. 4.0 was very tragic for my site.

Its a given that event attendance needs to be integrated with forum threads, otherwise its a great feature hidden away.

If you are talking about the screenshot, that is just the name of the calendar I used. Social Group Calendars is another mod and has nothing to do with this one.

Yes I undersatand. I have done the same thing, http://www.flyfishbc.com/forums/calendar.php?calendarid=3 But the only way to find this calender is in the default calender? I was wondering if there was a way to make the the calender used for this mode more visible, say in the Social groups.

Installed - working fine apart from one problem;

With the product/plug-in enabled members selecting the What's New tab and then selecting New Events get a blank page. Switching the product/plug-in off gives you the expected screen. Not ideal but workable. I know this a Beta but can you see if you can recreate the error? Thanks.

Tagged!!

We organize daily online races on my board and I am with YoBroMoFo, if we can integrate this in a post where people can click that they will attend some kind of sign up list would appear that would be magic.

WOuld reduce 90% of the workload on my forums!!

edit: one question/feature; is it possible to use usergroup permissions? now all users can RSVP :)

ummm LOL this is my fault as I did not put the install code in the latest release I released.

This is where the nightmare begins people posting bugs here for the vB event forums and over in my thread for the event attendance. I am patching the release and updating in about 3 minutes.

EDIT: Updated sorry about that.

Any ideas? I understand you're busy - even just a response that you saw my post and are investigating will let me rest easy. BBR said that this issue is solely with the RSVP side of the mod.

I'm surprised everyone else isn't having this issue? What could I have possibly different than everyone else?

PS - Just to be certain, I disabled the BBR - Event Forums add-on and it still said array for each of the RSVP attendees when I would go to the event on the calendar instead of trying to go through the thread.

Edit: I see this is where the "Array" is being parsed into the template - located in calendar_rsvp_section:

<ul><vb:if condition="$vboptions[rah_rsvp_showavatar]"><table>{vb:raw rsvp_section_bit.$key}</table><vb:else />{vb:raw rsvp_section_bit.$key}</vb:if></ul>

Not sure why {vb:raw rsvp_section_bit.$key} is returning "Array" though.

This is not a bug I can reproduce. In order to troubleshoot, I would need admin access to your board and likely would need to have debug mode turned on as well. If you have an offline copy of your forums that would do nicely.

Hrm, unfortunately I don't think I can do any of that. What version of PHP do you use? Maybe it's my server's configuration that is doing it. I'm using WampServer 2.0i which uses Apache 2.2.11, MySQL 5.1.36, PHP 5.3.0.

I don't know how much this helps but I turned debug mode on for a few minutes and tried different things - refreshing the thread, RSVP'ing to the event, etc.

Whether Building Section - Yes or Building Section - No showed up, it would still just show "Array"

All the database queries were working perfectly fine. I ran them separately using phpMyAdmin and the Execute SQL Query in AdminCP and both returned the data.

I don't see any error messages in my PHP error log or my Apache error log.

I also disabled ALL mods and I still get "Array" so it's not another modification conflicting with it.

I saved the debug output if any of it would prove helpful.

I see the following templates were called:
(1)calendar_rsvp
(1)calendar_rsvp_bit
(1)calendar_rsvp_form
(3)calendar_rsvp_form_responsebit
(1)calendar_rsvp_section

But aside from that, I don't see any other mention of RSVP in the Phrase Groups, Include Files, Hooks, etc. There were no messages.

You can always use Paul M's "Who has read a thread" mod to do that. I would assume it works on these posts, although I don't know for sure.

Does not work Trek but Thanks for the hint of that addon. It does not give option to monitor the calendar at all.

Maybe I'm not sure what you're looking for? This works fine on my forums.

Basically, all of the calendar items are done through the forums using the "BRR Event Forums" mod tied with this mod. Since everything is a forum thread, it is treated the same as to when someone reads it.

So on my event forum posts, I have a list of who has read them. Which would tell you then by looking at the RSVP list and who as read the thread, who has chosen not to answer.

Yes! We can upgrade now! *happy dance*

So my bug from the prior thread - I'd like to sort the RSVP's by usergroup. Typically it's by Name (alphabetically) or RSVP Time (which is great!)

We have a function whereas the longer someone is in our guild, the higher the rank they are. We would like our usergroups to show Yes/Maybe/No. Is that possible?

Awesome, awesome work!

This is my last ditch attempt at asking what we need to do, to rectify the rsvp page.

Image enclosed is how we have rsvp's output from template calendar_rsvp_bit

I am not sure as previously stated, what templates or code calls what. But this template reproduces "one" result. Therefore it must be called by some other template. I imagine sitting in an if else loop.

The issue is, because it is called within this loop, the rsvp's are returned sequentially. However this could be better returned, if I knew what templates were either side of this one, calendar_rsvp_bit.

Does this make sense.

Ok in more detail.

If I know what comes before and after the call for calendar_rsvp_bit I can code accordingly, to then produce the output as per Image 2 ( showing rsvp's side by side )

I imagine somewhere we must have :

<!--code above here-->
code to display calendar_rsvp_bit
<!--code below here-->

I just cannot find where calendar_rsvp_bit is called from

This is my last ditch attempt at asking what we need to do, to rectify the rsvp page.

The loop you are talking about is actually in the code. The container is the calendar_rsvp, if memory serves. Other than that, I do not provide free support for customizing this modification for your own purposes. I'm sorry, it's just that I don't have the time, so I provide these mods with functionality as-is.

TimberFloorAu

Actually I dont think it is too much to ask, what templates call what templates.

In fact how that would be classed as "non free support"is beyond me.

If I create a page that pulls x y and z and displays this that and other, and someone wants to customize or recode a Badly designed "other" then its fair I think for us to ask the questions.

Your support is pretty crap mate. You ticked the box when you ported your mod over "agree to support"

You have a very poorly designed "calendar_rsvp_bit"

For me or anyone to ask, what is the preceeding code to this and get feedback from you, to allow us to IMPROVE your mod and then to share that change with others, enhances your mod.

However I guage from your reply, that you are implying anything other that "basic" is at cost.

Shame :down:

Uninstalled. Wasted enough time trying to improve this to no avail

Let me clarify what level of support I'm willing to offer, because that checkbox obviously means something different to you than it does to me. It means that I am actively trying to resolve any bugs that are found and post new releases. If someone posts an actual bug, that means I am going to spend time and research it. Further, I am willing to answer basic questions on how to install the product if someone is having difficulty. That is the extent of it. If that checkbox means something more than that, then I will certainly uncheck it.

I do not support changes to the modification itself. If you want to make changes, then you're on your own.

Uninstalled. Wasted enough time trying to improve this to no avail

Honestly that's the best news I've heard all day.

Unfortunately it's a private forum. However I can say that I don't have the problem using FireFox 3.5.7.

I've checked with IE8 and it's showing exactly what people are describing though. So if you test with that, you'll see the problem.

Also, I have the avatars turned on incase that makes any difference.

I can't troubleshoot it without viewing the actual event page itself. Chances are there's something in the CSS or template that needs to be changed as far as the width of the div is concerned. I use FireBug to debug CSS and HTML template issues. If you can PM me the link, I don't mind looking at the event and telling you what needs to be changed (if I can find it)

Does this calendar have the ability to only allow say certain guests to attend an event? Say I post on a public forum viewable to all users, but I only want a group of friends to RSVP. Is this possible?

Also what is this "BRR Event Forums"? Is this something in conjunction to this mod? Thanks in advance.

Edit: Nevermind I found the Event Forums.

Installed! Seems like a great mod but one question...

Is there anyway to create an event on the calendar that doesn't invite everyone who is a member of the forum? Like a way to restrict who is invited?

Say I only want to invite people I am friends with, or maybe only certain specific people (maybe say a birthday for only 10 of my friends), is this possible? Thanks.

Awesome mod- could use some cleaning up to look nicer and stand out more, but it's a great mod, thanks!

I am very interested in a mod that would go with this, something that could create a new calendar for each social group and then allow only those of a group to add events to that calendar.

If this is done then you can avoid using sites like meetup.com to have local groups gather.

I'd be willing to even pay a bit for someone to develop such if it doesn't exist.

I am a programmer and may do it myself if no one is interested (but I'm new to vb)

Very sorry for the delay folks. I've been crazy busy with some freelance stuff that I have had to devote a lot of time to. Please bare with me. If your familiar with PHP and want to try something though and see if it fixes the problem for the date/time issues in other languages, go into the plugin "GETDAY_EVENT: Add RSVPs and Form to Event" and find all instances of vbdate. It will look something like: "vbdate($vbulletin->options['dateformat'], $userdate, false, false, true);" Change the fourth option after vbdate to true. If you try that, let me know if it helps. First of all, Thank you, Farcaster! I've been using previous versions of this mod for years, and it has always been great!

I'm having an issue with redirects after a user clicks on the submit button for an RSVP.

When they click on "Submit", the get a 404 error, with the page they are sent to being /forum.php&redirect=1.

To get past this for now, I commented out the "Prevents User Response Removal on redirect" section. The user no longer gets the 404, but they are sent to the forum main page.

Is this what should be happening, or should the user be redirected back to the event page?

(I also have VB Event Forums installed if that has any impact on this issue)

Any chance of integrating this with a payment system (PayPal, etc) to show who has paid for an event? Also get this
Will you be able to attend on %1$s?

So am I - the fix provided on the previous page didn't fix it for me either. Also, the thread starter's avatar does not show up? It just uses the image of a person's outline (used usually when someone doesn't have an avatar)

lowfd
05-03-2010, 10:31 AM
Here's a pic. And I most definitely have an avatar set. Before I entered an RSVP it said "Will you be able to attend on %1$s?"

Also it's worth noting the $ in "$You may change your RSVP status below"

lowfd

Fixed the $ issue by removing the extra one from the code. And fixed the "Will you be able to attend on %1$s?" by simply making it "Will you be able to attend?"

Avatar issue remains.

What's the "avatar issue?"

In the calendar_rsvp_section I inserted a table and it appears to display okay. My users have said it's good in Chrome, FF & IE.

<table border="0" width="100%">
<b>{vb:phrase calendar_rsvpd} {vb:var response}: {vb:var section.total} </b>

I wish the developer would come back and help fix this mod. I still only get "Array" instead of the RSVP's. We used to use this mod a ton and now we can't use it at all. The last I talked to the developer, Farcaster, he said he knew how to fix it and would PM me once he tested it and then I never heard back from him... been 6 months or so now. :( At this point I'd be willing to pay someone $50 to fix it.

Great mod buds, I love it. But that is not why I am posting. I am posting because I have found the cause of your 2nd known bug

Known Bugs:
Avatar Alignments Off
Phrase / Formatted Date Problem (unable to reproduce)
What's New - Events crashes

This is the template calendar_rsvp_form
This is the line <b><phrase 1="$rsvp_day_formatted">{vb:phrase calendar_rsvp_attendquestion}</b><br />
This is the phrase $vbphrase[calendar_rsvp_attendquestion]
This is the phrase text Will you be able to attend on {1}?
This is the error showing up on forums Will you be able to attend on %1$s?

Hope this helps you come up with a fix. For now I have just changed the phrase text from

Will you be able to attend on {1}
to
Will you be able to attend event?

That smiley face is supposed to be : p without the space in between. Sorry.

Also this <i>${vb:phrase calendar_rsvp_maychange}</i></font> needs to have the $ taken out as it did say (after you RSVP) $You may change your RSVP status below. and without the $ it just says You may change your RSVP status below.

First of all I want to say thanks for such an awesome mod :).

However as mentioned a couple pages back. I am also experience the avatar not showing problem. When clicking on the Whats New tab on the Nav Bar and then selecting New Events.

Here is a screen shot so you can see what I am talking about.

It seems the problem is related to the linking of the avatar. Hence the broken image and red cross as well as the alt text being shown.

Anyone know how this can be resolved?

I kind of recall someone saying something about a new release being available for 4.1 and I was wondering if anyone has heard anything..

I really find it hard to believe there are so few calendar and event type mods... Some of my clients depend on these things...ofcourse they could always be built into Vbulletin but that is another post on another site i think.. lol

I have a little spare time at the moment - if you want to PM me an account on your site I could check it out and see if there's anything I can do..
Can't promise anything - but if it's a quick fix we might get it sorted.

EDIT: Just to be clear - a user account with event creation, subscription and response permissions is what I need - not admin. I'll get you to screenshot anything I need from admin.

I was also having the "Invalid" issue - which removing SMnet's vB Event Forums improvements (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?p=2149999&highlight=Display+Event+Details+#post2149999) fixed

I've been struggling for a while with this MOD but wanted it so much.
Finally got some time.

I took OlijO xml file and fixed the following and confirmed it working on 4.1.0pl2

Line 105: rsvp:var rsvp.comment problem

Line 359: array_lower() problem
- modified the check to ensure array_lower gets created
Previous
// define functions for array_walk, if not already defined.
if (!function_exists('array_trim') and !function_exists('array_trim')) {

function array_trim(&$item, $key)
{
$item = trim($item);
}

function array_lower(&$item, $key)
{
$item = strtolower($item);
}

}

}

Modified File is attached.
Hope it helps some of you out.

Thanks for this..

But does anyone know how I would add an attachment feature to the add event editor when creating an event.
The only features it currently has for the calender are

Allow HTML
Allow BB Code
Allow [IMG] Code
Allow Smilies

I would like to add an attachment say maybe zip file so people who RSVP to the event can download the attachment prior to the event.

Hi,

one Question.
I tried to show the total members say "Yes" on the vbCMS from vbdesigns.de

This is my code:
$anzahlsql = "SELECT COUNT(*) AS anzahl FROM vb4_eventattendance WHERE eventid = 1";
$anzahlquery = mysql_query($anzahlsql) or die("MySQL-Error : ".mysql_error());
$teilnehmeranzahl = mysql_fetch_object($anzahlquery);
$teilnehmer = $teilnehmeranzahl->anzahl;

and to show on a template:
$templater->register('teilnehmer', $teilnehmer);

and in this Template
{vb:raw teilnehmer}

Works fine, but only for the EventID 1.
How can i get this informations for the next Events 2,3,4,5

The response you gave to this event was not in the list of valid responses. Please contact the forum administrator if you believe you have received this message in error..

Great hack!

I was just wondering if there was a possibility to invite users (by pm or mail for instance) after posting an event and setting the RSVP? A sort of event invitation to get it under attention of selected usergroups.

Is there a way to create that? Or is it something for a next update/version?

@ blamelesssas; That's a phrase of this mod, I think it says it all? You filled in a different answer then required (IE Yes, Maybe, No).

having a couple small problems with this mod that I have not found anywhere in this thread.

There is no Time/Date Stamp on any of the current RSVP's.

Also, is there a way to display the users that have RSPV'd in order of who replied first and not in Alphabetical order?

Hi all,

Running this on vBulletin 4.0.8 PL2. Everything seems to work great except on minor thing and not sure if it has been covered, been fixed or can be fixed.

But the date, time and comments seem to be messed up. I have attached a screenshot of what I am seeing.

Thanks for your time and help

Hi,

got this problem:
I have installed:
Farcaster's Event Attendance v3 (for vb4)
and
BBR - vB Event Forums Version: 1.0.1

if i write a new Event and click after in this event to the showthread.php/xxx
then nobody can activate/change the RSVP Status or write a Comment.

See my screenshot!
What happend?

Here it works: calendar.php?eventid=5&do=getinfo
But without BBR - vB Event Forums Version: 1.0.1

Just installed this mod on a 4.1.2 VB forum and everything works great except one thing.
When a member makes a comment with their rsvp this takes the place of their comment.

{rsvp:var rsvp.comment}

Anyway to fix this?

Did you do step #2 above which is here?

2. Use the Style Manager to find and edit your calendar_showeventsbit:
Find:

HTML Code:
<div class="eventfoot">

Above that add:
HTML Code:
{vb:raw rsvp_form}

I think this may be your issue. IF you edit that file with the code above that should solve your issue I believe.

Open your style, open up your templates, and find your Calendar Templates. Find the "calendar_rsvp_bit" template and edit it.

At the bottom, replace:

Find:

<b>{vb:phrase calendar_rsvp_attendquestion {vb:var rsvp_day_formatted}}</b><br />

Replace with:

<b>{vb:phrase calendar_rsvp_attendquestion, {vb:var rsvp_day_formatted}}</b><br />

Replace with:

<b>{vb:phrase calendar_rsvp_attendquestion, {vb:var rsvp_day_formatted}}</b><br />

Last but not least, find:

<font class="smallfont"><i>${vb:phrase calendar_rsvp_maychange}</i>

Replace with:

<font class="smallfont"><i>{vb:phrase calendar_rsvp_maychange}</i>

^Gets rid of the $ symbol that shows up in front of the "You may change your RSVP status at any time." whenever someone RSVPs to an event.

can a member create public/private events? and invite those members whom they wish to call for?

public display but invites only
Private event not displayed to public unless invited by member who created the event.

This mod doesn't do that. All this mod does is add an RSVP to an event.

Is there a way to make the rsvp'd avatars smaller - eg 25 x 25 instead of full size?

Yeah, actually the avatar stuff in Farcaster's mod is more complicated than it needs to be.

Open your AdminCP, go to the Plugins Manager, and open up the GETDAY_EVENT: Add RSVPs and Form to Event plugin for Farcaster's Event Attendance v3

Find:

/************************************************** *******************
* Get Users Avatar (If Used)
************************************************** *******************/
if ($vbulletin->options['rah_rsvp_showavatar']) {

$avatarurl = "";

if (!empty($rsvp['avatarpath']))
{
$avatarurla = array($rsvp['avatarpath']);
}
else if ($rsvp['hascustom'])
{
$avatarurla = array('hascustom' => 1);

if ($vbulletin->options['usefileavatar'])
{
$avatarurla[] = $vbulletin->options['avatarurl'] . "/avatar{$rsvp['userid']}_{$rsvp['avatarrevision']}.gif";
}
else
{
$avatarurla[] = "image.php?u=".$rsvp['userid']."&amp;dateline=".$rsvp['dateline'];
}

}

if ($avatarurla) {
$avatarurl = $vbulletin->options['bburl'] . '/' . $avatarurla[0];
$showavatar=true;
} else {
$showavatar=false;
}

unset($avatarurla);

} // END AVATAR

Replace with:

/************************************************** *******************
* Get Users Avatar (If Used)
************************************************** *******************/
if ($vbulletin->options['rah_rsvp_showavatar']) {

if (!empty($rsvp['avatarpath']) || $rsvp['hascustom'])
{
$avatarurla = fetch_avatar_url($rsvp['userid'], true); //Change the true to false to get regular sized avatars
$avatarurl = $avatarurla[0];
unset($avatarurla);
$showavatar=true;
}

} // END AVATAR
