View Full Version : Mini-Hack: Backend.php for vBulletin
This is my first little hack for vBulletin. I just adapted the backend.php file from phpNuke to work with vBulletin. It just displays the last 10 threads (configurable by editing the mySQL-statement) as headlines.
It also works on non-nuke sites if you have the abilty to include RSS/RDF files.
You can see an example on my page http://www.arachid.org, left at the bottom. If you use the Usenet hack, you may email me and I send you the file which excludes usenet posts.
The forum headlines on my site work again (it was an error in Nuke). The script displays now also the threadstarter.
I guess it wouldn't be much work to display more info but it won't look that good, especially in the blocks of phpNuke.
I made a mistake and uploaded the wrong file. It's the one for the usenet hack. Now, the correct file is up.
If you downloaded the "old" file, remove AND isusenetpost=0 from the first mySQL-Query.

I tried this, and got the following:
The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A semi colon character was expected. Line 17, Position 61

I love it!
Question, though. Is it possible to keep this from displaying posts that are in private forums? Right now it displays the top ten posts, even if those forums are private.

Well, sorry for the late reply. I'm quite busy with my exams right now.
Hmm, I need to have a look at it to exclude private forums. I guess it should be possible. Anyway, will do it after the exams which will be mid October...
P.S.: Sidalo, I can't read your message and your link doesn't work. Except that it opens tons of windows...

Well, to be honest, I have no idea why this happens. I tried many things out but it just didn't work. I have a slight idea now where it could be. But as I said in my previous post, I'm in my exams. So you need to be patient. I'm sorry for this. It works on my site but there it's included in phpnuke.
