I want to disable attachments on thread posts universally across my forum. I'm sure this must be an option somewhere as I've seen many forums that that have an option for attachments, but I cannot figure out where you make this change in the v4 administration.

Anyone have a path or advice.

Thank you kindly for any assistance.

In Usergroup Manager, you can set it so users in the group may not download attachments. Is that what you are after?

No, I don't want users to be able to UPLOAD an attachment when they make a post.

When you go to "Post Reply" or "Go Advanced" from the Quick Reply (just like right here on this page.). In the advanced post options, under "Additional Options" there is a block called "Attach Files" where it says "Valid file extensions: bmp gif jpe jpeg jpg php png txt xml zip"

I want to disable that feature all together. If someone wants to show an image, they can use an IMG tag. If they want to post an image of their own, and don't have their own server (most of my use-base will have their own server anyway) then let them use a site like Flickr to upload their images to put in their post. I don't want users uploading files and images to my server. Period. I want the feature turned off entirely.

Also in the usergroup manager - can upload attachments > no.

Update: I did find another option on that same page:
"Attachment Permissions"

With a variable of "Can Upload Attachments"

And for "Registered Users" I set it to "No"

The option disappeared. Fixed.

Thank you.
