How do i alter the post area?

I want to edit the post area from what is is below in the attachment to make it wider, so that the text can fit across it more, how can i do this?

A fix is already posted in one of the many threads about this over on vb.com and also in the bug tracker where this bug is posted. Please do a search over there for this problem.
