Found a bug, it seems that apperently the fail page instead of displaying the actual fail content, it displays the donate content, like the page you are taken after you click donate.

I was thinking of adding number 4 to a future version.

For number 2, I'll take a look at it but I'm not sure if and when it will be done as I've never used VB Advanced before.

I'll try to add those features to a future version but I can't give an ETA as it will mean altering the database. It shouldn't be too hard for how the system is now but when I add other payment systems it will mean grouping all the donations together.

Of course for the progress bar it will mean that you can't give members the choice of currency due to currency conversions

Fixed: If you download the mod now then the fix will be implemented.

I did get the idea from that mod as I wanted a donate system but that wasn't quite what I wanted so I made my own version. Like I said in the mod description, when I started work on this I had no intention of releasing it which is why there aren't too many phrases at the moment.

If you download the mod and look at the files you'll see that they are very different, the end result may be more or less the same at the moment but the way they work is very different.

I use cybs as well and the 3 features you list above are the features I want in a donate mod. So those 3 options would be my feature requests for this mod.

Does Cyb's work on vb4? The donation progress bar is a HUGE missing feature on all of these donation modules. The donation goal progress bar is what spurs many of my donations on - people see the donation goal progress at 0% every month and donate until it's at 100%. Next month, a new set of users donate. Without the progress bar, they aren't as apt to do it.

This is now fixed and will be released in 1.1.0 which should be up by Saturday latest.

They can see the email address when they go into their PayPal overview but on the actual payment page itself they don't see it.

I will be implementing a feature to track donations in future versions but at the moment you can see in your PayPal account as the item name will be Donation From User Name.

If you prefer to do a pulldown implmentation of this product:

1. Go to Styles & Templates -> Parent Style -> Edit Templates -> Donation System Templates
2. Edit the donation_main template

Find the following code:

Unfortunately if it's left in, the mod won't be able to display accurate information about how much has been donated.

Well it could display xxx.xx in USD, xxx.xx in GBP etc but a progress bar wouldn't work at least not without calculating currency conversions first and the rates are changing all the time so it would never been completely accurate.

Yeah the members still decide on how much to donate they just can't choose the currency anymore, that is set by the admin in the control panel.

Just installed the new version and have a few suggestions.

I'd still like a dropdown with preset values in it, plus the ability to allow for manually entered values. With a minimum value allowed set in the adminCP.

Beyond that, if you only have 1 payment gateway selected, skip the payment gateway selection page and get right to business. =)

BTW changing the colors is easy. Just edit the thermometer.php file and change lines 19 and 20 with the background and foreground colors of your choice. The darker purple in the default vb4 is 124,154,174.

Odd, I upgraded and followed the instructions. It only shows the non verified paypal image and when I click on it I am not sent to the next page. So, I re-uploaded it and the same thing happens. So, I uninstall then delete all the file. I re-read the instructions and install again. Same thing.

OIt only shows the non verified paypal image

The PayPal logo on the main donate.php is just to say that you except donations through PayPal.

If you are verified, the verified logo will show on the PayPal donation page which is donate.php?do=paypal.

All NavTabs take their style from the StyleVars.

In the plugin manager, disable the Donations System: NavTab plugin and that will stop it from showing.

Nice mod. I really would love to see a donations bar which shows the monthly or yearly goal you want to reach.
A list of donators (date, amount) would be great too.
Also an automatic usergroup change for different amount of donations, for example.

$1-5 = Donator Lvl. 1
$6-10 = Donator Lvl. 2
$11-25 = Donator Lvl 3

Just thought I'd mention though that the original folder name for the images was donation_system but in this update it's donation_manager.

Not an issue but it just meant there was a duplication of files. no biggie as it's easily fixed. Just wasn't sure if you were aware the folder name was different in this update.

I think I found a bug/omission in your new version.

In the download, in the images directory, there are 3 images files:

google.gif
unverified.gif
verified.gif

However your code calls:

You need to delete the files from the server. For the tab it's Includes > XML > cpnav_donation_system.xml

Completely understandable - would it be possible for you to release an update with the stats hooks sooner? Even if they're not actually displayed anywhere, it would allow others like myself to develop stats addons like a donation bar to go with this mod quicker.

I'm actually working on that at the moment.

In a way I'm doing it a bit backwards. I have a page in the admin control panel that displays all the donations, a total of how many donations have been made and what they all come to and an average donation per member.

I'm now working on actually getting the donations into the database.

As soon as it's done I'll release it. I'll also post screen shots of the control panel page tomorrow. I can't now as the mod is stored on another computer.

Very, very well done. I love the addition of Subscriptions to this.

I've modified the template donation_paypal to allow pulldown choices for my donations and subscriptions (see http://www.puritanboard.com/donate.php)

Find:

Replace with
<select name="amount">
<option value="10">10</option>
<option value="20">20</option>
<option value="50">50</option>
<option value="100">100</option>
<option value="500">500</option>
</select>

You'll need to set the values and the amounts between the option tags to correspond to your donation selecitons.

Find:
<input type="text" name="a3" size="8"/>

Replace with:
<select name="a3">
<option value="5">5</option>
<option value="10">10</option>
<option value="20">20</option>
<option value="25">25</option>
<option value="50">50</option>
</select>

Once again, changing the values to correspond to what you want the user to select.

The money will be transferred on a pro-rata basis, for example if user 1 donated $1 on a weekly basis today, you would get another $1 on 27/02/2010, 06/03/2010 and so on until cancelled.

If member 2 donated $10 on a monthly basis, you'd get another ?10 on 20/03/2010, 20/04/2010 and so on.

If member 3 was to donate $1000 on a yearly basis, you'd get another $1000 on 20/02/2011, 20/02/2012 etc.

The subscriptions will remain active until the member cancels them in PayPal.

Go to your Ftp , and search in ftp site the files...

images/donation_manager deleite this.

includes/xml/cpnav_donation_system.xml deleite this.

and deleite the file donate.php in forum index from your ftp.

Is there anyway to change the text on the donate.php page? Good idea. Unfortunately at present this line is hardcoded. Until the author updates to either phrase this line or allows editing it directly in Options, you'll have to edit the .xml file manually, then import it again allowing overwrite.

who can i change this text?Most all text in vbulletin is in Phrases. AdminCP>Languages and Phrases>Search in Phrases. However, if you can't find it there, then your only choice is to edit the text in the .xml file and reimport.

Yes, some more phrases would be nice. I just had a member point out via PM that they wanted to donate by check. But I see no easy way to include a mailing address in donate.php anywhere. Like maybe just by editing the phrase "We can accept donations through the following payment gateways.".
