Basically the module can integrate the chat and vBulletin seamlessly.
So what the module can add to vBulletin? It adds a chat button which links to a fabulous chat room, with multiple skins and multilingual support, written in flash or HTML/Ajax, and a visual setting panel, etc. Recent changes: the backend management is enhanced.
1. Chat Button
Firstly a chat button will be added to the top menu of vBulletin as the chat room entrance.

3.2 Chat Status
The following data of the chat room can display on vBulletin index page to attract more users to join chatting.
Total rooms, total connections, online users
Chat room list
Online user list

Let me clarify. The integration does work with 4.0.X However the chat module does not. They need to fix the code for installing it on the skin.

I have gotten the Chat Statistics to work on my vB4 with a little tweaking if anybody needs the code.That would be great. We need the code for the index.php file and the code for editing the forumhome.
This company has repeatedly spammed me for years, and refused to honour unsubscribe requests. Now a post in the vB4 mods forum without an actual functioning module for vB4? It kills me to think that with the blandness of AddOn Chat and the awful bugs of FlashChat, that this could at some point soon be the only actual functioning chat mod for vBullet.

Sorry Sigh, the module works well with vBulletin 3.x and 4.0.
As to your complaint about unsubscription, please let me know your email and we'll surely remove you from the mailing list. Thank you and sorry for the trouble.

Ok... so pretty much you can still use all the files that are included in the thing you get from 123flashchat..I upgraded from 3.8.4 to 4.0.1 publishing suite so all the files I had were already uploaded. Now, in forum.php look for this...
// ### TODAY'S BIRTHDAYS #################################################
Before that line of code, add this:
// 123 flash chat server begin
include "includes/functions_chat.php";
include "chat/flashchatconf/config.php";
$rooms = '';
$user_list = '';
$chatters = getChatters($running_mode, $free_server_path, $room_name, $primary_server_host, $chat_data_path, $chat_group);
$user_list = getChatterList($running_mode, $free_server_path, $room_name, $primary_server_host, $chat_data_path, $chat_group);
if($running_mode != 3){
$show['room_numbers'] = "There are <b>".$chatters ['room_numbers']." </b> rooms.<br>";
$show['connection'] = "There are <b>".$chatters ['connections']." </b> connections.<br>";
}
$show['logon_users'] = "There are <b>".$chatters ['logon_users']." </b> users logged on.<br>";
$show['user_list'] = "Currently logged in: <b>".$user_list." </b><br><br>";
// 123 flash chat server end
Now, go to Admin CP > Styles & Templates > Style Manager > Edit Templates and open up the Forum Home Templates then edit FORUMHOME.
Now search for:
<div id="wgo_legend" class="wgo_subblock">
Above it, add this:
<!-- 123 flash chat server begin -->

No that is stuff from 4.0.1...now if you use the new plugin they have for 4.0.1 and host the chat yourself open up config_local.php and add:
$chat_data_path= "C:/pathto123flashchatfolder/server/data/default";

How do you install this on the site? I decided to try the monthly package (not free) to give it a shot and test it out. I downloaded the 123flashchat trial (which I guess is upgradable) and the Vbulletin integration chat module. I was able to install the Vbulletin chat module fine, but I cannot connect it to the server to run my license. These are the steps I took to install the server:
1.) Downloaded trial version of 123flashchat on your website.
2.) Installed it on my computer (not website).
3.) I uploaded the files through FTP to get files on my website.
4.) I placed the license and fcserver.jar file in the files on my web server.
5.) I didn't create a database because I was gonna use Derby.
6.) I start chat server again on my computer. Black window opens then closes immediately (is this supposed to happen?) and nothing happens.
So basically I cannot enter my license details and also cannot access the admin panel. Any help would be appreciated.
I installed the 123flashchat exe on my home computer (not web server), as we are supposed to activate it this way? I cannot find a way to run an install through the files I uploaded to the FTP.
Any help would be appreciated.

Dear Jabong82,
That is because you didn't install 123FlashChat on your web server. You just install it on your PC and didn’t configure the chat server to connect with your web server. So the chat is unavailable.
Don't worry about this. Please submit a ticket in your Admin Panel to our support center, and then our tech support will solve your problem as soon as possible.
If you’d like them to offer you the free integration service, the information below will be needed:
1) Ftp account of your website with full write access, and website path
2) vBulletin Website Admin Panel access account (if any)
3) Several testing accounts of the website
Thank you so much!

I am not able to get the status script working. I have followed the steps, but the stats are not parsing, all I see is the variables.
The vB4 instructions don't mention anything about editing the forum.php file like we did with the index.php file in vB3.8, so I am not sure if that is the problem...
Any help would be appreciated.
I am running vB 4.0.3 and the module files were all downloaded today from 123flashchat's website.
Thank you

Can anyone please tell me if the above chat module link would be better than the currrent one i am running????
And how hard it would be for me to replace the current chat prog with the above one?

I have started 123flashchat with VB4
But you dont have correct ""vBulletin Board Chat Module Preview""
1) VB4 have new variables
WRONG: {$show['room_numbers']}
MAYBE CORRECT: {vb:raw $show['room_numbers']}
2) Something is bad with "functions_chat.php"
you have this functions:
$chatters = getChatters($running_mode, $free_server_path, $room_name, $client_location,$chat_data_path);
$user_list = getChatterList($running_mode, $free_server_path, $room_name, $client_location,$chat_data_path);
But you dont have this variable:
$free_server_path
$room_name
$chat_data_path
in file: config_local.php or config.php
I am very pleased with 123flashchat
when you fix these errors i will buy owned license
(if you think that i deserved discount price, please contact me via PM or bubac85_gmail.com :)

The correct variable format is:
<dt><dd>{vb:raw show.user_list}</dd></dt>
I hope that helps.

I added a $chat_data_path variable to my config_local as described vaguely near the start of the read me fileand it works fine.
from the readme
Configure the following parameters:
$chat_group
$client_size_width
$client_size_height
$chat_data_path
$primary_server_host
$primary_server_port
$chat_client_root_path
$swf_file_name (modification is not recommended)
$chat_data_path = "<123flashchat install directory>/server/data/default/";

A final note. I strongly recommend that you protect chat_login.php from access by any IP except the chat server. The script allows rapid unrestricted testing of username/password pairs and is therefore a major security weakpoint. I have posted this on the 123Flashchat forums and hope they will include this in their docs or protect the script in some way.

This is what you need:
<Files login_chat.php>
order deny,allow
deny from all
allow from [your chat server IP]
</Files>

It doesn't get much clearer than that to be honest.
You go to your admin panel at something like http://<your chat server>:35555/admin-panel.html then go to the menu option given. It's pretty much impossible to miss so if you can;t find it you may be in the wrong place entirely (not the admin panel?)
hqarrse

I think you'll need to explain that one a bit more clearly. Are you saying that your Flashchat is running but when you type a message it doesn't appear? Surely if you refresh the page it resets the Flashchat session altogether?

That's a great idea! thank you. but it only works for apache web server, and it will be a little bit complicated to configure the web server, to edit .htaccess or httpd.conf ,
and here is a solution to resolve it, just add the code below in the beginning of login_chat.php
$sAllowedIPs = "127.0.0.1"; // Set allowd ip addresses, config sample: $sAllowedIPs = "127.0.0.1, 1.2.3.4";
if (trim($sAllowedIPs))
{
$aAllowedIPs = array_map("trim", explode(',',$sAllowedIPs));
$sIP = isset($_SERVER['HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR']) ? $_SERVER['HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR'] : $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'];
if(!in_array($sIP, $aAllowedIPs)) exit;
}

I was told this "requires" a dedicated server...I am sure if you are under a load of chatters, then I can understand for the need...but would I still need dedicated for like 5-10 users in chat?
I really do not like the free version as it is not private to my forum, and the ads just
make me sick.. :) even other chat mods do not require dedicated, and I can
get a few chatters without going dedicated, but 123flash chat just looks better, but
will be no good if it will not work on a shared server at all.

hqarrse

It's a Java server and installs its own JRE during the install script. I wouldn't like to say that you absolutely need a dedicated server, but you certainly need command line access, as well as being able to install services and lifting any firewall restrictions. I haven't used shared hosting for a while but I think this is all very unlikely. You could use a virtual dedicated server without a problem of course.
DeviantFlash, I'm not sure what you're asking there really. If you own a copy no problem, and if you want to integrate into VB, then just use the integration that you can download from their site.

Yes Hqarrse, you're definitely an expert on 123 flash chat, you've answered onehost very correctly, it's true that a dedicated server is required.
Basically two requirements: shell access (command line access), can run JVM.
And about the port, usually ISP can open it for you.
So Mr. Onehost, even if only 5-10 users you will need DS or VDS, otherwise you may consider our affordable hosting service, it's stable, instant setup, free install and with professional tech support.

It's good to see an integrated VB module, although it would be better it it worked properly! For those who host your own server, but have a license (correctly I believe) for the domain where you have the client, ie. where your users are chatting, and these server and clients are not the same, you will need to fix something.
The integrated widget doesn't give you the possibility of adding different server and client locations. If you enter my_chat_server.com for your server, then the system will also look to 'my_chat_server.com' for the client. That results in an 'access from my_chat_server.com not permitted' error when you try to connect to the chat. I assume because your 123chat license is not for my_chat_server.com, but for your website.
The solution - quick and dirty - is to edit 123flashchat_admin.php and hard code in the URL to the client (line 58):
$fc_row['fc_client_loc'] = 'http://www.my_actual_website_not_my_chat_server.com/123chat/';
Thanks to 123FC for taking on board my security comments.

So is this the program Iw ant to go witha nd if not, what do Iw ant to look at getting...
I will pay for a license if its worth it and a known and well tested solution..

The flash version was to much for user to load, and the html version was lack of functionality.
Well, 123FlashChat flash client has luxurious features and dazzling look, so it takes a while to load the skin, this is partially true but it only takes once, then it will be stored in cache and loads very fast ever since!
By the way, 123FlashChat 8.x loading speed has tremendously faster than before, you're strongly recommended to come back to upgrade.
Alternatively, 123FlashChat has a lite chat client, which is extremely fast in loading.

Well 123FlashChat connects to its own Java server,
but it can integrate others user database, means that if you already have a vbulletin, then all your vbulletin users can enter the chat seamlessly, single sign-on, after the integration is done.

Well hqarrse,
if you're using free hosted chat bound with vbulletin module of 123flashchat, you don't have to worry about the security problem because we host the java server and already fixed the problem at our end;
if you're using a paid license or hosting chat, you may write to us to request the updated server file to fix it instantly.
So in either case it's not a problem any more, please stay with us!

I wasn't. I was using two paid licenses to run my own chat servers. I have since switched to cometchat (great for small forums) and parachat (java applet which is a pain) but I feel much more confident even though I preferred your chat client.
When I requested an upgrade (the license.dat etc) for my 7.7 server I was refused and told that my license would only work with 7.7 even though less than a year old.
When I posted about the security flaw in the VB integration in the 123FC forum, the post was deleted and the problem not addressed.
You got my money twice - not again!
My recommendation to others is to stay well clear of 123FC.

Well it's a misunderstanding. Let me clarify, if you're running vB on your own server and you have root access to this server, you can buy a $199 license.
If vB is on a hosted server, then you should buy a $300/year hosting.

I haven't had the best experience with 123flashchat... I paid God knows how much over the last 3 or so years for "VIP" treatment - and getting support is nigh on impossible. For starters the staff often don't understand very good English. Maybe thats changed now - as the topcmm guy here appears to have a good grasp of the language.
I've found that when asking for installation instructions so i can do things myself they are reluctant to give you any information and would rather you hand over your root password so they can do it themselves.
Not the best experience.

If there is no chat settings in your vbb ACP, you may fail to integrate the chat to your vbb.

This is crappy, it doesn't even work. Under vb 3.8.7. The chat link is a link to 123flashchat.com/, all the "chat statistics" says is:
There are 0 logon users
There are None
Topcmm have you tested this on 3.8.7? Just do a clean install of vb3.8.7, write some clear instructions to follow at the instructions, and it should work. Maybe you should split this mod into vb3 and vb 4... I don't know, anyway you haven't tested this enough, it DOESN'T WORK (free version, option 3)
I followed instructions here http://www.123flashchat.com/vbb3_install_mod. I also tried the instructions on this page and imported the xml, uninstalled it again after it didn't work (it gave a template fatal error).

Hello Mark,
Actually we did test this and it should work for both V3 and V4
For this one, vbb3_mod_for_123flashchat\chat\flashchatconf\confi g.php
the $running_mode=3;
And for vbb3_mod_for_123flashchat\chat\flashchatconf\confi g_free.php please just use the default " $free_server_path = "http://free.123flashchat.com/";
Please have a check ; this should be working
thanks
This is the error I get after installing it with the xml, as stated in the instructions provided in this thread..:
( ! ) Fatal error: Class 'vB_Template' not found in D:\wamp\www\index.php(596) : eval()'d code on line 1

Looks like a great product but too expensive.
The free version is only 10 members at once, which is utterly pointless.
Its pay something like $250 and host it yourself with a limited amount of users or pay $45 a month for 123chat to host it and again have a limited amount of users.
Chat rooms take members away from your board so to pay $250 and have less posts is not a great thing.... you guys need to rethink your prices.

Thank you for the input
Right now we have special on that if you purchase the license ( which you will own it for lifetime) you will can get one year free service for the hosting( for the same user level package) it should be a huge one I am sure you will be interested
And yes, we will think about the price thank you

Our site is based around chat rooms, so the forums for us are just an added bonus. The chats pay for themselves if you're advertising well.
It appears the vBulletin brand has helped us get users into our 123FlashChat rooms. When we view the Who's Online tab, it shows many are on the chats.

Is there a way to set usergroup permissions? I want only select usergroup IDs to have access.

I'm interested in usergroup permissions also.
For example I have this in FlashChat:
// Usergroup Definitions //
$users = '11,13' ; // Allowed standard access.
$banned = '1,2,8' ; // Banned from any access.
$moderators = '5,7,12' ; // Allowed access as moderators.
$administrators = '6' ; // Allowed access as administrators.
This means I have more control and can also have promotions which give members chat access after a certain time. Is this available in your software?
Thanks

Hello friend,
Sorry for my late.
1 Is there a way to set usergroup permissions? I want only select usergroup IDs to have access.
Answer:
Yes sure it can be implemented in login_chat.php
2 I'm interested in usergroup permissions also.
For example I have this in FlashChat:
// Usergroup Definitions //
$users = '11,13' ; // Allowed standard access.
$banned = '1,2,8' ; // Banned from any access.

$administrators = '6' ; // Allowed access as administrators.

Answer:
Following parameters are allowed to support integration:
$LOGIN_SUCCESS = 0;
$LOGIN_PASSWD_ERROR = 1;
$LOGIN_NICK_EXIST = 2;
$LOGIN_ERROR = 3;
$LOGIN_ERROR_NOUSERID = 4;
$LOGIN_SUCCESS_ADMIN = 5;
$LOGIN_NOT_ALLOW_GUEST = 6;
$LOGIN_USER_BANED = 7;
Look at these, it can recognize users/banned/superadmin with integration, without moderators, please understand it.
Thanks.

If I want to grant access as below, how should it look like? The numbers on right are the group IDs
regular members: 2, 51
admin: 6
mods: 5, 7
not allowed: any other group, or specifically 1,3,4,8
Thanks

I tried it if that if thats what you call it. Its over priced and the customer support was very poor. While this could be a very promising product for my forum to use. Its way way over priced. I think if they are gonna be so high and expect me to fork out this amt of money for the app they should at least make the full features available for evaluation during the trial period. There were so many of the supposedly great functions missing in what they call a free trial. If it where me I would be making sure future customers could really try out all the bells and whistles it has, during the trial period so they would be able to see what they would be missing . But thats just my thoughts on it....for now I will continue with cometchat

Hi,
Sorry for my late.
Actually 123flashchat is not expensive for customers.
With excellent performance and powerful function, 123 Flash Chat is easy to use and host on your website.
We work hard to offer the best price/performance advantage in the industry, it's worthy of the price.
Thanks for your understanding.

Does anyone Know about this chat?
- Is this the 30 day trial version?
- Many downloads few installs
- Does it work on 4.2.2?
- What do you do with the xml file not in the upload folder?
- This should not be installed in the forum folder but in the root?

I think that this company has gone out of business.
I bought the license and then added on the video chat module. Then I learned that I would have to have a dedicated server and that my purchases were useless.
I did use the chat hosting for about 5 months, but the last payment I made wasn't applied and my chat URL comes up with "expired" and asks me to pay. Last payment was July 20th.
I have emailed, opened tickets, tried every which way to contact them. The ticket system conveniently says "the tickets will be worked in the order they were opened. If you open another ticket, you will be dropped to the bottom of the list". How convenient.
Basically I've paid hundreds of dollars and still have nothing. Not even fake support.
VERY DISAPPOINTED!
Oh - and their website is still taking money! ???? Seems a bit shady, and since they're located in HK, there's no recovery.
I guess I'm back at square one. :(

ArrowChat (http://www.arrowchat.com/vbulletin-chat/) & Cometchat (https://www.cometchat.com/vbulletin-chat?r=AD040&gclid=CJDB5O2NoccCFeXLtAodIUAB-w) have similar function to what this mod states, but actually work for vBulletin 4.2.X

I too have been using this for a lot of years. Though communication has been a problem a few times, it has been the best chat solution that I ever found. Mine expired the end of July. Never got a renewal invoice and as stated above, support tickets to tech support and to sales have gone unanswered. Sooooo......I'm once again looking for a new chat solution.

After doing a lot of searching, I am getting close to pulling the trigger on ProChatRooms. Do any of you use it? It seems to offer most of the features that 123Flashchat offered.
They say on their site that it will integrate with VBulletin. I have sent them an email asking for some clarifications.
One thing that I don't see is any type of mod or widget to show on the forum page "Who is Chatting".
If any of you have any experience with or feedback about it I would appreciate it.

Just an update. I did go ahead and buy the ProChatRooms software. It will integrate with VBulletin, at least for the most part. My members love it. It has most of the features of that 123Flashchat had but is much faster. I installed it on my own server and it was fairly quick and easy. One note is that you must have VDO Drivers installed on your server. I got a warning that the drivers were not installed and had to get that done. It was no big deal with my host though. Took them about 15 minutes.
When I say that it integrates for the most part. They have VBulletin integration files that you download. After you have installed the chat room, you upload the integration files. Very simple. At that point, when your users go to the chat room they are automatically logged in. What it does not seem to do is pull any profile information like profile picture, avatars, etc. into the chat room. You have to upload your avatar from there. Also, they are supposed to have a file for "who is chatting" to add to your forum page but I haven't found it yet. Waiting on a response to a support ticket on that one.
Otherwise, it works very well and is very fast. It's the best thing I've used since 123Flashchat went away. Actually better in regards to speed and etc. My members on iPhones and Androids say that it works there also but I notice when I tried it on my iPhone the sounds do not work. Not a huge deal to me.
They do have an audio/video plugin but I did not purchase that.
