I need to make changes so you can place the vmoods menu anywhere in the navbar template...after that you will need to change the vmoods template to structure the html so it works with your menu.
i'll try and get that done asap.

Awesome, so happy to see this updated.
As soon as you post a way to display this anywhere you want in the header, I'll be installing this ASAP! 3 of my sites don't use vb's built-in navbar code whatsoever - I clear it out except the notices code).
I do have one site that does use the vb navbar, so I'll upgrade that now!

I'm using the default vBulletin behaviour but since vBulletin pages tend to reload the page you don't see the problem, i'll look at using javascript to close the menu after you move your mouse away from it.

you can edit the vmoods_postbit template to remove that piece of text
{vb:phrase vmoods_my_mood}
that bit adds "My Mood", you might need to re-structure/style that template if it looks broken.

vB 4.01 Suite
Installed this new version. It works as advertised although at some point adding the option to the User CP would be nice.
In the readme file, it says this:
If you still want images, you can do so by using CSS. Each mood pack has its own style.css file so you can do the following e.g.
#vmoods .Bashful {background-image: url("vmoods/classic_72x15/Bashful.gif")}
OK. So I
created a CSS file to replace the empty one (attached; contains some non-standard mood images but all are correctly described and this list corresponds to the one in the vB Admin CP | Options | vmoods settings)
uploaded this to the /vmoods/classic_72x15/ folder since that's the version I'm using.
Nothing changes, however. I still see the list of moods in the navbar drop down but no images.

If the member doesn't have a mood selected, the postbit still shows the label "My Mood:" - see attachment.

if you can't see the text it looks like its working fine! missing images suggest you need to use the full url for each mood
so use something like (you need to do this for every mood)
#vmoods li.Devilish a{background-image: url("http://www.google.com/vmoods/classic_72x15/Devilish.gif");}
Charlie98902

So adding :
#vmoods .Bashful {background-image: url("vmoods/classic_72x15/Bashful.gif")}
Will show images to all moods or should it be:
#vmoods .Bashful {background-image: url("vmoods/classic_72x15")}
?? I just don't understand how the bashful.gif shows all the moods in the drop down instead of text?

not quite right, you need use the newly updated style.css which looks quite different
e.g.
#vmoods li.Amused a{background-image: url("/vmoods/classic_72x15/Amused.gif");}
#vmoods li.Angelic a{background-image: url("/vmoods/classic_72x15/Angelic.gif");}

#vmoods li.Asleep a{background-image: url("/vmoods/classic_72x15/Asleep.gif");}
#vmoods li.Bashful a{background-image: url("/vmoods/classic_72x15/Bashful.gif");}
#vmoods li.+++++y a{background-image: url("/vmoods/classic_72x15/+++++y.gif");}
#vmoods li.Blah a{background-image: url("/vmoods/classic_72x15/Blah.gif");}

#vmoods li.Busy a{background-image: url("/vmoods/classic_72x15/Busy.gif");}
#vmoods li.Buzzed a{background-image: url("/vmoods/classic_72x15/Buzzed.gif");}
#vmoods li.Chatty a{background-image: url("/vmoods/classic_72x15/Chatty.gif");}

#vmoods li.Cool a{background-image: url("/vmoods/classic_72x15/Cool.gif");}
for each mood you need to prefix it with the full url for each mood.
e.g.
#vmoods li.Amused a{background-image: url("http://www.forum.com/vmoods/classic_72x15/Amused.gif");}
#vmoods li.Angelic a{background-image: url("http://www.forum.com/vmoods/classic_72x15/Angelic.gif");}

Hey Charlie I got it, lol Duh to me, in the folder for which icon set you wish to use find style.css, open it and then near the top of the links for images find /* and remove it then save and upload replacing the other version and thats your problem sorted..
I've attached both files ready to go.. just download extract then find which one matches your icon set and rename it to style.css, upload and enjoy..

Hey,
I noticed a very odd bug.
It's related to the subnavbar. When you click on a CATEGORY link, located on the CMS front page the subnav bar goes completely empty and you cannot see any links OR the moods.
Just visiting SECTIONS and ARTICLES themselves are perfect! It's just when concentrating the CMS output on viewing a category's results!
Once that's fixed up, I'll definitely turn it back on.
Now for my other 3 sites, I'm eagerly awaiting the custom location ability in the header since I do not use the vB navbar in any of those.
Thanks!

Are you using the custom navbar location?
As for you other 3 sites, the latest release doe let you change the mood menu location, just have a look at the online readme (sorry forgot to mention in the release notes)

Nope. Auto-edit navbar, auto-edit postbit on the one with the default unedited vB 4.0.1 navbar template!
As for the others, I'll check out that online readme once I get this error worked out for sure.

install the latest update and replace the vmoods template with this
<li id="vmoods_list" class="popupmenu">
<a href="javascript://" class="popupctrl">{vb:phrase vmoods_my_mood} <img id="vmoods-mine" src="{vb:raw vboptions.bburl}/vmoods/{vb:raw vboptions.vmoods_icon_set}/{vb:var bbuserinfo.vmood}.gif" /></a>

<li class="{vb:var mood}"><a class="vmood" href="index.php?" title="{vb:var mood}">{vb:var mood}</a></li>

</li>
After this you might need to mess around with the CSS to it get it looking the way you want...

working fine on laptop but on the live forum the images do not in drop down menu, even after rebuilding styles.

vmoods_css_shelly_93x30.css
any ideas what would stop these template not to import?

did you set "Allow Overwrite" to "yes" (If you wish to upgrade a product, you must set this to yes.) during product import?
Did all that and then moved on to treble check things over...
Noticed I had vb4.0.0 on laptop and running 4.0.1 on the live site, the live site had the css files grouped together in a different place to version .0 which had all the vmood templates together inc css.
So I guess it's just the images don't show on the live site, strange as it works perfect on laptop.
If it helps the cause this is from the error logs on me site /public_html/forum/clientscript/vbulletin_css/style00086l/vmoods.css,vmoods_css_shelley_93x30.css

003 hack to make images work
Here is a fix for the VBSHELLEY version. USE ONLY IF YOU WANT TO !!!!
styles and templates > your style >
Search for vmoods_css_include
Open it.
Replace the contents with:
<!--<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="{vb:raw vbcsspath}vmoods.css,vmoods_css_{vb:raw vboptions.vmoods_icon_set}.css" />-->
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="vmoods/{vb:raw vboptions.vmoods_icon_set}/style.css" />
Now download version 00002
Open up Shelley folder.
Locate Style.css
open with editplus or similar:
Remove the /* at beginning and */ at the end
Find : /vmoods/shelley_93x30/none.gif
Replace: http://yourwebsite.com/forum/vmoods/shelley_93x30/none.gif
Do this for every image ! Save and upload to shelley_93x30 folder
DONE !
Works a charm.

Finally installed this after the vB 4.0 upgrade. Thank you for updating this, -=Sniper=-! :)
Thought I'd give my 2 cents.
1. For some odd reason, when viewing the drop down menu of vMoods on the CMS page, the top most "None" mood does not appear. It seems to be working fine on the forum.php page though.
2. When viewing any thread on the forums, if I try to change my vMood, I am taken to the home URL, which in my case is the CMS page. This happens ONLY when I try to change my vMood from a thread.
3. Is it possible to give an option to show the vMood drop down menu in the header (where it says "Welcome", "Notifications", "My Profile" in the upper right corner, instead of the navbar?
4. You may want to change the link to Shelley's images in your online manual. She can now be found at http://www.bbsmiley.com/vmood-icon-project/ with a dedicated section on the vMood project.
Once again, thanks for the excellent mod! :)

1) should be fixed in release 4.1.0004
2) unable to reproduce at my end, sorry! send me admin login via PM if you want me to investigate further. (probably won't be able to have a look until later on this week)
3) you can turn off auto edit and place in anywhere in the header template, see FAQ with release 4.1.0004 on placing the mood list after the "Wecome xxx" text
The reason I didn't place there was because I could not get the styling to look nice! so you might have to mess around with the css to make it look that little bit better.

2. A hard refresh (Ctrl + F5), or simple logout and then login fixes the problem. Seems to appear only when you re-enable the auto-edit navbar option.

I have two problems (I hope this is the place to report issues, as I see no place else):
1. When I install, the mood menu appears on the forum page, as expected. However, when a user selects one of the moods in the dropdown, nothing changes and the title of the dropdown remains "mood (none)" This happens no matter if the dropdown is text only, or pictures.
2. When I change the option for the dropdown to "pictures," (and, obviously, rebuild all styles), the dropdown menu list is blank for all items. The tooltip for each item in the list still works, but the items themselves are blank. When I change back to text, the text appears fine.

If you are having issues seeing the mood images. Use below to test
check template: vmoods_css_include
replace content with
<!--<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="{vb:raw vbcsspath}vmoods.css,vmoods_css_{vb:raw vboptions.vmoods_icon_set}.css" />-->
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="vmoods/{vb:raw vboptions.vmoods_icon_set}/style.css" />

This appears to be working fine, however, if I'm above others posts, it shows my mood. Then users after me, it's showing two moods. And they haven't even selected a mood yet. The plugin was just installed fresh, no one knows of it yet. It's almost like there's a open code call some where, spitting out moods randomly... And the others are double moods, not just single. Any suggestions?
Example thread:

I'm "spencerp" by the way, and users after my post... have double moods.

When I add new mood pack it's images doesn't shown in drop-down. Although it shows the images of the default mood packs perfectly.

There's no need to be insulting when someone is trying to help you - that's not likely to encourage anyone else to try.
If indeed you haven't skipped something in the installation, there's really only one other possibility: Some other add-on you've installed is incompatible with this one.
1. Go back and double-check you didn't miss a step in the installation.
2. If you pass that step, try disabling your other add-ons one-by-one and checking again each time until you see this add-on working. When that happens, you'll have to decide which you want more: this add-on or the other one.

I think you'd better re-read the instructions.
His reply was not a joke and your comment was insulting. The reason you often see that is because that is the most likely cause for an add-on not working. Often, as in this case, there is a bit more to it than just uploading a folder and installing the product. I missed a step in the instructions for another add-on recently and I've been using vBulletin a bit longer than you have.

1. Make sure you have vmoods version 4.1.0004 installed correctly
2. Go to Admin CP | Settings | Options -> vMoods by luqmanamjad.com
3. "Yes" to allow users to change their mood -> Yes
4. Check that List of Available Moods is the same as that listed in product-vmoods.xml (if it's a fresh install, and you've uploaded the files correctly, this should not be a problem)
5. Mood Pack: Select the mood pack you want to use
6. Dropdown Menu Options -> Select Show Images in drop-down
7. You MUST Rebuild All Styles if you change this option. Click here to Rebuild All Styles -< important step - this is the one yopu probably missed

OK. I can guess that at least two things are very likely interfering:
1. The vBSEO Tweets gizmo. It's annoying and buggy. I advise you to dump it.
2. The popup ads that appear every time you switch pages. I assume that's using some sort of script which may very well be interfering with the scripts for this add-on.
You're also using the WYSIWYG enhanced editor, which is known to be buggy in 4.01.

Hello,
I've installed the moods thingy and it seemed to work fine. I've got the moods in the menu bar and showing correctly, however I get these problems....
(1) If you select a mood on the forum, it jumps to the front page automatically on selection.
(2) The mood doesn't show for anybody (in their postbit).
Any ideas? It seems to function apart from this.
Cheers,
JT
EDIT: I've noticed too, that even if I choose a mood it still says (none). I think this is linked to the fact it jumps to the Home page. Is this mod only for VB forums and not Publishing Suite?

if when clicking a mood it jumps to the top of the page (sounds like the javascript link is missing...), I'd suggest uninstalling/installing. I don't think there is anything for me to fix, I have installed on a number of boards without any issues.
the issue is/was https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=1970427&postcount=169 if you aren't seeing the mood images I'd suggest following what I mentioned in the above post => Style & Language Setting => Store CSS Stylesheets as Files? => set to "No"
Its also designed to work with the Publishing Suite as well as the forum.

My 'store CSS stylesheets as files' is already set to No. I Can see the mood images fine - I just can't choose any of them. It always remains at none and always jumps to the forum homepage.
Probably just as well I can't get it working cos my postbit is gettin a bit crowded!
I used this mod on vb 3.8 and it was really popular and worked perfectly - so thanks regardless. It's a good mod and I'd recommend it!

2. When viewing any thread on the forums, if I try to change my vMood, I am taken to the home URL, which in my case is the CMS page. This happens ONLY when I try to change my vMood from a thread.
Dear JonnyThunder, as you can see above, I had a similar problem.
However, after a while, the problem got sorted out itself. I use Firefox, by the way.
All I recall doing was a hard refresh (Ctrl + F5). Then I simply logged out and logged in once again.

Same on my board with the Shelley-images. Classic works fine though. Does anyone have a fix for this?

I'm on 4.0.2 with the shelly images and don't have a problem. Not sure what might be going on for you, but the mod does work still on my board.

With IE client? It can be related to the size of the Shelley-images, and that IE doesn't handle the horizontal slidebar.

Maybe I'm missing the problem? But this works in IE8 and FF3.5 and FF3.6 on my site here: http://www.darkhandofvalor.com/
Feel free to poke around as I'm not sure why mine would work and others do not.

Actually I tested it at work and there everything looks smooth (64-bit Windows 7 ultimate with IE 8 on ATI gfx-card). The only difference between these systems are the graphics card (nVidia at home) and that IE does not try to apply a horizontal slidebar on my system at work for some reason (you can look at the attachment).

I found out why it was showing up differently at work and at home despite that i used the same OS and version of IE. At home "compatibility-mode" was turned on, and that mode activated the horizontal scrollbar so that the images screwed up. Maybe the developer can try both modes and check out the difference.

OK I have upgraded to the very latest VB and now I get a double drop down in my navbar for vbmoods. I tried doing my own navbar and disabling the optin to auto edit navbar but, ya didn't work it showed up but wouldn't let me click on it

Do you have a mod called newsletter installed? I found that for some reason that mod and this mod don't agree with each other and if I have them both enabled I get double vmoods not sure why but, what I did was just disabled the newsletter and will bring it up only when I need it..kinda sucks but will have to do for now hope that helps

Yes, you are right. WHen I disable the newsletter, everything returns perfect. Why is that happening?

I wish I knew but, for some reason this mod and the view your threads and post mod do not like to play nice with the newsletter!

I can verify....
Works with Firefox, IE8 with Compatibility View NOT checked.
IE7 and IE6 are no gos.
Any chance of a workaround for IE7 (don't care about 6)??

Rob,
Interesting...there must be some setting in IE7 that I have not found. The view I have in IE7 is the same view I get in IE8 with compatibility view checked.
If someone knows what setting in IE7 needs to be checked or unchecked, let me know and I will pass it on to my forum users.

That is fine...except that is not the problem. I can verify several users with IE8 who do not have Compatibility View checked and still cannot see the icons without a grey box over them, while others who have IE7 can see it! Weird. It MUST be something with the Javascript. Dev or anyone else?

I have strange problem!
I had before the 3.8 version of your hack but uninstalled.
Now I installed this version but it shows the mood images from older version and when I try to chose the mood it's just redirect me to index and nothing's changed.
Also I've tried to remove the vbmoods folder and even removed the images are still displaying in navbar ?!?
Any ideas?

This was actually working fine for me earlier and for some reason it doesn't now. I have the same issue where after I rebuild the templates I get only blank in the navbar, and when I click anything it returns me back to the index.php page.
Anyone know why this may be? Thank you.
Edit: I found the fix for the image problem (had to edit css file with URLs), but I still have the redirect problem. Every time I click an image I am just redirected to the homepage.
I don't have supercharged mod or whatever, but I am not sure why I keep getting redirected. Thank you again.

I found this on the first page:
<li><a href="javascript://" class="popupctrl">{vb:phrase vmoods_my_mood} (<span id="vmoods-mine">{vb:var bbuserinfo.vmood}</span>)</a>
<ul class="subnav">
<vb:each from="vmoods_list" value="mood">
<li class="{vb:var mood}"><a class="vmood" href="index.php?" title="{vb:var mood}">{vb:var mood}</a></li>
</vb:each>
</ul>
</li>
I'm using that navbar from HiO iWay theme as well, but when I add the code everything looks ok except for no dropdown menu.. please advice.

Hi, thanks for this mod and all the hard work that's gone into it and supporting it :)
I've read every post to make sure that I'm not asking a question that has been asked 1000 times already.
I understand that you were looking to release a new version of this with the capability of placing it in the header instead of the nav_bar. Has this yet been released?
My only request is that is it possible to moods in posts in PhotoPost as swell as forum and in users profiles?
Don't worry if it's not something that you want to do... just asking.
Thanks for this mod it's great by the way :)

Everything looks like it installed fine, however when I go to select a "mood", nothing happens and I get redirected away from the page and to:

Do you know why this may be? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
Edit: NEVERMIND I FIXED IT! GREAT MOD!
