If I make it in template it will not work with Store CSS Files :)
So I should store my CSS First before use it.

Just upload clientscript folder in your vbroot and the FTP Client will put it in the right place

P.S : To make sure you are upload the file in the right place, this file "MARCO1.css" should be in your clientscript folder.

Hmm,it's in the right place.
I posted a few huge images and they're still huge. Not sure what's going on.

Is there any way to do this with javascript instead of css?

Something like shown in the demo here (http://www.techsupportteam.org/forum/15625-post55.html)? This used to be done with the nCode image resizer (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=176531) but they stopped their development prior to 4.0.

Currently I have it to where attachments (since the new vBulletin has decided to make the img button use attachments) are thumbnailed down to the size I want, but the img tabs aren't. I know how to do it through css, but I'd rather have the capability to see the full size image with a click instead of having to right click and then viewing the image itself.

Speaking of, is there a way to force vBulletin to use the old behavior for the insert image button and just use img tags?

Of course. I didn't mean to rip their code, but using javascript as an option shouldn't be something that is exclusive to the mod. I just sent you there to see an example of what I'm talking about.

Hopefully you can do it.

Bug: Installing this add-on messes up the Quick Edit Tool Bar - see attachment. Quick Reply is fine; Quick Edit is seriously messed up.

This happens in IE8 but not in Firefox 3.x.

Using page compatibility in IE8 makes the tool bar display correctly but that's not a solution - just a workaround.

Uninstalling the add-on corrects the problem.

My guess is you've messed up something in the CSS.

Marco1,

Can you show a screen shot of the settings for this mod? Is there a field to specify what the maximum allowable width of the image is so it knows what images to resize or does it resize based on the width of the post area?

The other modification that's out for image resizing sets the width of the image as a maximum allowable pixel size. While it's sufficient in theory, it's NOT friendly for sites with a userbase that has many different resolutions. To make the images show correctly on an 800x600 screen the allowable width has to be set really small - but then everyone using larger screen resolutions are now getting tiny thumbnails.

Since the image is being put into a div area, can't there be something that says to the effect of "if the image width is smaller than the div area, do not resize. If it is larger than the div area, resize it to be 100% of the div area"

Thank you for updating this, Marco.

It seems that whenever you hover the cursor over ANY image, even it was smaller than the size limit given for resizing, the text "Click here to enlarge" appears, and clicking on the image takes you to the actual image. Just wondering, whether it could be possible to not show that for images that never needed resizing in the first place, since the "enlarged" image would be actually of the same original size. :)

I dont know if the file is missing something but when I downloaded your mod all it had was the XML file. I see everyone on here talking about the clientscript folder. There was no clientscript folder packaged with your mod. As of right now the mod is only resizing the images but its not using javascript at all. When you click on the images it opens up a new window with the image on it.

Yes, There is no clientscript folder that's was in the older version. now just import the xml file.
The JS is when you click on the image it takes you to the original path of image with the full size.

Ok i tried it:
Images resized: when I click it open a new page with the image, it is not good
Images with link: clicking on a immage with link (like a imageshack thumb with link to full size) it open 2 new windows, one with image (it appen with imageshack already small too) thim and one with the link
Images preview of attachment images: it open a new window with the image and the forum showes it in the lightbox...

I found that troubles with just a simple browsing after installing the mod... It isn't ok for me, I'm sorry but i must unistall it

Hey MARCO1, hope you're doing great.

Is there any way to fix this problem? Because I'm using an image as a Download link to files, and whenever I click on the Download button, it opens two windows, one for the image and one for the actual download link. As mentioned above.

I'd really appreciate it if this could be fixed. :)

There is the advantage towards this mod: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=230411 ?

It would be really good if users were able to set the sizes they wanted resized in their UserCP, and it be saved as Cookies.

Reason being, some users have laptops with tiny resolutions, some users have massive screens with large resolutions. Also, I'd say cookies over database because some people also have multiple monitors.

Just an idea :)

If you're having difficulty with this one, definitely try the other one. I found that this mod was messing up some of the CSS on my forum; I uninstalled this and installed the lytebox mod which worked better for me.

Hey Marco,

I've had this mod installed for some time now, but after the upgrade to 402, when using vB lightbox for attached images, your mod is interfering. What happens when clicking a thumbnail is: the thumbnail (not full size) is opened in another tab/window while simultaneously the lightbox opens as it should. Is there a way to set this mod so that it only affects linked images and not attached images? That is all we need it to do.

Thanks, it works well otherwise.

Thank you very much MARKO1. I installed this and it worked perfectly.

Can I make a suggestion for a future feature? I would like for Visitors (people who are unregistered) to not see the image at all, maybe just a text URL link to the image. This way, visitors are encouraged to register.

IP Board has this as its defualt behavior, and vBulletin 4 has this feature for Attached images, but not those images in posts that are embedded with [IMG] tags.

Thanks again!

Uninstalled because this hack see and resize all the images and not only the "more bigger than max px" , and edit the alligned (vb4 tool) images too.
I'll wait a new release if will be made.
Should be great to have a mod that work only on the images attached by the [img] tag and not on all the images , included the attachment vbulletin tool that already resize the images.

With this mod installed, the "view post" icon in quote boxes doesn't work, Instead of linking to the post that is quoted from it now just opens a browser window showing the icon. When you hover the mouse over the icon you get a text box saying "Click here to enlarge". So it is just linking to the image location itself:

Great and really fast mod!
It only needs a few things:
1. To be enabled for blogs too...
2. To enlarge image without opening it in a new tab
3. To have some written text above/below the image saying "This image has been resized. Click to enlarge!"
4. To have a link to this thread in vBulletin installed Products

If you can do those, you're the best! Thx!

When you click on a 'linked image'... an image that leads to a url... the image AND the link will open in a new window. Only the link should open in a new window not the image as well.
