Plus sign after username

what is the purpose of the plus sign after the username? I have a couple on my forum that have the little+ after their username in the WGO section of the page.

It means they are on your friends list.

It means they are on your friends list.

Correct and if you see an asterisk, it means they are logged in as invisible.
