Paid Subscription Question:

When a User signs up on your vbulletin forum via paid subcription, does it automatically move the user into the new usergroup or must that be done manually for each buyer?

Then when the user cancels or does not renew the subscription-- does vbulletin put the user back to the old usergroup or must that ALSO be done manually.

I tried searching but could not find the answer

They're moved. If you open up one of the default subscriptions in your Admin CP and click the little Help icon besides Usergroups. You'll see a more detailed explanation of what happens and what those settings are for.
