Need a Query on "Users Awaiting Email Confirmation"

I'd like to purge my "Users Awaiting Email Confirmation" but I hesitate because at times I have come across members whose status has somehow been downgraded to this, even though they've submitted posts in the past. I'd like to run a query to see if there is anyone like this in the database before I do the purge. I don't know how to write it myself and was wondering if anyone could help with this.
