I want to edit the styles & templates. Where are they located?

I just want to be able to actually see the design as it is happening locally on my computer. I want to download the css and html pages, modify locally and upload them back to the server.

I can't tell which files are the correct ones or even which directory they are in. I don't like using the style manager because I can't see my changes on the fly.

Can someone help me?

Run an installation locally and edit the templates from the vbulletin backend. It's much easier then tinkering in Dreamweaver. Then you can simply download your style and upload it when it's done to your live site.
