To Lizard:"Irony", I believe, is what you were trying to spell. I didn't steal anything of what you did. To create a theme it takes alot of work. Piecing it together. Its not something you can just look at the source code and copy and paste it. Building the theme took hours of my time and for you to say I'm stealing it is just completely wrong. It's like an artist looking at another drawing and then drawing his/her rendition of it. Exactly the same thing. I didn't go on your servers and steal your theme.xml. It's built from scratch by me. Further note, if you come here to say negative things about my judgment, then I have the right to defend myself/fightback.

So if you didn't notice, you should revise your site:
It states: vBulletin 4.0 + vbseo3.5 = [the most powerful vbulleting software]^2

This should be vBulletin 4.0 + vbseo3.5 = 2[the most powerful vbulletin software]
or
vbulletin 4.0 x vbseo3.5 = [the most powerful vbulletin software]^2

But thats only assuming that vbseo = vbulletin in stature, ...so the entire equation just falls apart there.
You think someone designing thie most powerful software would know basic arithmetic.

If you need more math help, please let me know.

Hello! Thanks for the theme. What you think about creating a new elegant and at the same time minimalistic theme for vbulletin? i mean something very fast with not too much graphics, good use of the white space, very readable and elegant using good fonts like georgia or something like that...

When the First BETA of vBulletin 4 was released, I made a skin like the vbseo.com theme. vBSEO contact me and I remove It.

Why did You make the skin and posted here saying: VBSEO CLONED THEME, If you are a vBSEO forums user, You will know that they are planing to release the ORIGINAL skin when they want.

Given that all the changes in the xml from the original are colours (he didnt even bother making images, or styling it correctly going by the demo images), you might not want to call him a thief, or a plagarist, but it's pretty clear he lacks creativity/imagination.

(Gotta say, the lack of respect for the vBulletin License Agreement by having a public test site amuses me. Explains the lack of respect for other people's work and Copyright/Brand.)

Yep, thats probibly why VBSeo uses the "cloned" NVIDIA logo :erm:

First of all thanks BSMedia, Mike and anyone else backing this up. Anyone trying to shoot down this theme is just a hypocrite....You call foul play when a vb related company theme is released, but not one foul play was called when a facebook theme was released. Both are companies, both are themes that are clones. Why the sudden change?

As for the licensing agreement; I agree, I made a mistake and I appologize to vBulletin. There's quite a few rules; not everyone picks up on them the first time. I won't make the same mistake twice and have been changing any outgoing links fto my test server to a demo picture or a sample site of someone downloading the style.

The worlds competitive place. You must have the nicest theme to stay on top or you will be at a disadvantage. Take McDonalds vs. BurgerKing for example. They share many of the same attributes, surely this is not a coincidence. You can get the same items practically on the menu, the colors are very similar with just different logos. You don't see them bickering at each other. Every site needs the same opportunity to be competitive on the web today, and I am providing this opportunity to those who see it. OMG come on kids does it really matter about colors? The theme is just a default with color changes, now making a custom skin with custom coded navbar and other add ons and then having someone make a clone would be something worth arguing about. Anyone could have added green and black coloring to there vb 4 site would you go after them to? I think vbseo should stick to making there new seo 3.5 and not get caught up in dumb fights over color changes to the default skin because vbseo is not a skin maker they are the #1 seo maker for vbulletin.

@skin creator threads title could have been different to avoid this and the skin lack originality but not to your fault new vb has new template engine and style vars so no one right now is making awesome and innovative skins yet for vb4.

Great theme mate, and top effort - don't listen to those bagging your theme vBSEO don't own the colors, or the layout or even their logo as previously stated it is a rip of nvidia (yeah real genious creation there).

They then still charge an arm and a leg for something that in coming versions of vbulletin is going to be obsolete anyway so continue making the themes you want etc don't worry about them they will go out of business while your still making the rest of the vbulletin community who are not so petty happy.

Also, the logo is a dead give away where he got his 'inspiration'. While its a simple logo, the placement is identical to vBSEO's style, even as far as using 'with' for the logo. I'm pretty sure I haven't seen ANY other style use that 'with', because most other people aren't trying to sell their product thats integrated with vBulletin.

Also, the tab styling is ALSO nearly identical to vBSEO, again, with only a small difference in the shade of the color you used.

The only difference is rounded corners, and a margin, other than that, you ripped the design completely.

While its not that big a deal, because vBSEO is based off the basic vB4 design, there's still the issue of you posting it here, and not even mentioning what inspired you to design it.

Also, offering to rip other designs is just morally wrong, and as a 'designer' (With this incident, I wouldn't even consider you one), you should know how taboo other designers find it.

I didn't look very close, but it looked like a standard header graphic location to me? Even vBulletin.org has their header in the top-left of their skin.

Again, looks like default vBulletin navbar, with the colors. But the issue of reusing colors was address in point #1

I've compiled a list in less than 5 minutes of some of the many clone themes out there on vbulletin.org. Theres a ton more that people have made on vbulletin but I don't have the time to just go through them all.

Give me a 1 star on this theme, but honestly, you and I know that's a false rating. The theme is so perfect in its resemblance your astonished and it seems like its the first time people are getting angry. Is this theme's clone right on target and your mad because it's a legit clone. Take a look at all the themes above I listed. So next time you want to hate on this theme, hate on those links too, and see what people think about what you say. Stop embarrassing yourself.

You can change the main background pic by going to style vars > Doc_background

If you wish to add an image, theres a function within doc_background to attach an image.

Go to the CMS on the front page of your forum: Click on the pencil icon. And change the style. Not sure why it's vbulletin designed this 2 step process.

Just because someone requests it doesn't mean you have the authority to clone it. And thanks for verifying that you cloned it. You clearly didn't have permission from the person that created this skin in the first place.

I've compiled a list in less than 5 minutes of some of the many clone themes out there on vbulletin.org. Theres a ton more that people have made on vbulletin but I don't have the time to just go through them all.

Give me a 1 star on this theme, but honestly, you and I know that's a false rating. The theme is so perfect in its resemblance your astonished and it seems like its the first time people are getting angry. Is this theme's clone right on target and your mad because it's a legit clone. Take a look at all the themes above I listed. The author CLEARLY posted ON THIS THREAD and told you that you were ripping his skin off.

If that's the case for any of those other threads you listed, they should be removed as well. But its not.

If you can't remember the original skin maker's comments, check the first and second pages.

PS: These other threads aren't direct rips.
One of them is a facebook clone (facebook doesn't have a vbulletin style)
The other one is a IPB style. (its a conversion from IPB to vBulletin)
Another is an ubuntu skin and a twitter skin.
These are ALL NOT currently vBulletin Skins. They are DIFFERENT FROM RIPS. Learn the difference.

Your Rip on the other hand is totally different. Someone already made this skin for his own vBulletin site and you just posted it here, and took credit for it without his consent.

To install this theme, it's similar to how you would install any theme.

1. Download the .zip folder
2. Extract .zip folder with winzip or any extraction tool
3. Open filezilla or any ftp service. Configure ftp to work with your server
4. Find images folder thats in your root, or whereever you installed vbulletin
5. Drag the folder: vbclone into images folder on your ftp
6. After that, go to admincp, download/upload styles > import style xml file > browse for my .xml file, its called GreenSEOTheme.xml
7. Ignore Style Version: yes
8. Import

Try not to make your logo larger than 400 x 50 px. At least that 50 px is important. However, I think Dave should fix this so larger logo's can be used and not bring up that white line.

That means you placed vbclone folder in the wrong directory. Make sure you put it in the images directory. And if your forum is not in your root, you have to place it wherever your forums root is.

It is the size of the image for your logo you are using that need to be smaller. Have used hours to try to fix this, finally I made the logo smaller and it vanished... not the best way to do it but an option.

What about creating a "Professional Green SEO Theme LIGHT" with NO template changes, just color changes? I would love to have the right colors and no need to worry about updates, because with just color changes you can update your vBulletin version instantly, without having to wait for someone to fix template changes.

But there must be some template changes or else that white line under the logo never would have existed. Or am I wrong? The new vBulletin styles are just color changes that are said to work the whole life time of vBulletin 4 x. This is something I want for this style too. Just some color changes so I easily can updater vBulletin software without have to wait for an update of the theme as well.

The line was fixed in the last update, the reason was the repeating image had a white line in it was actually not a vBulletin issue. There was a small white line in the image created when I made it awhile back. xD Hard to see unless zoomed in on or using a larger image. Fixed though and should work for all 4.0x

Hey, I'll try to do them as soon as possible. I've been working around the clock to get the BuyPoe.com Network up on a dedicated server. I was previously on a shared server and they just shut off everything since I exceeded 10% of the CPU resources (Justhost.com fyi), this untimely event has delayed everything including some custom theme creations and updates on themes.

Just tried it on a demo site, not having that problem. Make sure you click Ignore style version. And merge the xml over the current one you have. Also make sure your images folder is in the correct location. Although the logo may sure, you may have placed the images folder in the wrong spot effectively messing up the location paths of the gradients.

Yes there are some work arounds.

The easiest way is to make the sidebar completely transparent and apply an html block with the ad code on the side.

Those are references that point to links on my site for the header Im using. All you have to do is change them and edit the banner images. Their more like placement holders for advanced users that want to go ahead and edit the image of the header and the link url.

Dont think so. I use the 4.0.2 version in my 4.0.3 forum and it works just fine with no issues at allt. :)

Can I get some support on this new StyleVar crap ? I HATE the new system to edit forum colors in VB4. I liked the older system with 'All Style Options"...but they dont even allow us to edit entries over there anymore..

How do I edit the outer most color on my forum ? you know...like if you look at the north-west corner of this page..that color. How do I edit that ?

I messed with every StyleVar setting and still can't change that damn color.

Negative.. I had it working perfectly when I had the vbAdvanced version installed. (CMPS)

It did everything automatically... So I took a gamble and purchased vBulletin's CMS version... and now realize I dont even need it, since the Widgets / Blocks are included without it.

But its very limited support with their Widgets / Blocks so far... So much so that it seems like we can only use it on the main forum page so far.. With CMPS, I was able to customize it anyway I wanted...with any page.

For instance, I had the 120 x 600 skyscraper ads on the Forum Post pages...and the bigger 160 x 600 skyscraper ads on the Forum Display pages.

With the way it is now, i'm not even sure which templates to edit. And if I ask support....of course their going to say something along the lines of "we don't support that". Even the most minor changes, they say these things. To the point where they practically force us to install other 3rd party plugins..


I still need the Banner after 2nd post thing as well.

EDIT : I wrote all this mumbo-jumbo thinking you replied to my post in that thread...and just now realize you replied in this one. Maybe a MOD could move both these posts to the right thread here -

If you installed dark green seo theme, pleas writeover the existing .xml with the new one provided. For some reason, the vBulletin copyright wasn't attached to that specific theme. Fixed in latest release

Not a major issue, but a little tab sticks out when Quick Reply is enabled on the forums. When you click on it, it seems to 'select all'.

I modified my Showthread, so i'm not a 100% its because of the skin.

The 2nd screen is another issue...once again i'm not a 100% sure its because of the skin.

When you have a lot of Tags for 1 threads, the tags overlap each other -
