Really nice style, thankyou.
I see from the screenshots on your site that the CMS is also styled, maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I can only get this to affect my forums.
Any ideas please?

hmm weird, just for a test... try turning off the option to change styles in ADMINCP and make BP-Brown the default style.
If the style then shows on your CMS its a vbulletin 4 issue, if the style still does not show then its a issue with my style.

Yep, when I do as you suggest the Style is applied to both CMS & Forums.
Annoying, I'll have a play and see what happens.
Thankyou for the very prompt reply https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/

Fixed (kind of)
See last post in this bug thread (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/project.php?issueid=33554)
vB 4.0 Suite, by default on a new installation, sets the style for the CMS 'home' page to 'Default Style', rather than 'Board Default' as is the case with all other content pages. This means that the home page always displays with the vB 4.0 default style set, even if a custom style is set and applied elsewhere - either by the member or by the administrator, site-wide. This is true, also, if the member tries to use the style chooser: the home page always remains with the default style, irrespective of any other settings.
The only way around this is to edit the CMS home page by clicking the pencil on the front end, and setting the style there to 'Board Default'. Thereafter the style will reflect the board settings; and if the user employs the style chooser, it has an effect on the home page.
This improper default setting has caused many of us hours of frustration: I do hope that, it's source now known, vB can quickly sort out the changing of the default setting for future releases.
This works.

Is there a way to change the color of the text as it is inputted into the message box? It is currently set as white as is the background of the text box (see first attachment below). The second attachment shows the highlighted text I had typed to make it visible using "ctrl-a" to select all of it.

Same problem here, but only with Internet Explorer. with other browsers the problem isn't there. I tried to modify the background color with style var, but this doesn't change anything.

Unfortunately unlike vBulletin 3 where u could change the background of the input colors with one setting via 'MAIN CSS' vBulletin 4 has like multiple input classes and most of them are hidden deep inside different CSS files, very frustrating hehe.

excellent style... very professionnal...
(same little teenie notice prob as i pointed out in darkness style)
I have another little issue.. (ITS NOT a bug... :p)
vbulletin has still the shadows of the album images hardcoded...
You did the same.. (which is the correct approach) thus leaving the shadow at its initial value (whick doesnt look to good in a dark style)
vbulletin is bound to put that shadow in a stylevar...
as the image shadow has (in vbull) the same default value as the forumbit shadow..
I would suggest following:
Either hardcode your shadow color from stylevar forumbits_shadow_color to album.css
original album.css:
#picturelink img {
background-color:{vb:stylevar lightweightbox_background.backgroundColor};
border:solid 1px {vb:stylevar lightweightbox_border.borderColor};
padding:{vb:stylevar padding};
text-align:center;
-moz-box-shadow: -2px 2px 2px #d7cbcc;
-webkit-box-shadow: -2px 2px 2px #d7cbcc;
}
OR simply just make the shadow values the same by changing to stylevars:
#picturelink img {
background-color:{vb:stylevar lightweightbox_background.backgroundColor};
border:solid 1px {vb:stylevar lightweightbox_border.borderColor};
padding:{vb:stylevar padding};
text-align:center;
-moz-box-shadow: -2px 2px 2px {vb:stylevar forumbits_shadow_color};
-webkit-box-shadow: -2px 2px 2px {vb:stylevar forumbits_shadow_color};
}
I would opt for second, as vbulletin is bound to put that shadow into stylevars...
And there is no reason why on images they should change their standard colors...

Oddly enough, the text boxes are working differently on my website than they are on your forum.
On your forum on IE8 AND Firefox, the background color is Brown and the text color is White. Perfect.
On my forum on IE8 the background color is White and the text color is Black. (Different than yours but it works fine)
On my forum on Firefox now... the background color is Brown and the text color is Black.
It's better than white on white, but it's not perfect. I'm not sure why my forums install looks different than your actual forum.

Doesn't seem to be a caching problem. It did change from the previous update since IE is no longer White on White, it is now Black on White.
Text changed to Black on mine, but it is White on yours. and IE box background is still White on mine.
This is better than it was before since black on brown still works better than white on white. So I can wait to see if others have the problem.

Actually, it is worse then that...
I'm having completely different problems with the Clanz Darkness one. That one for me hasn't changed at all.
On Darkness I'm getting...
Firefox - White Text on Brown Background (Good)
IE - White Text on White Background (Not Good)
Just for clarification, on Brown I'm getting...
Firefox - Black Text on Brown (Not Good... but passable for now)
IE - Black Text on White Background (Good)
I use Brown as default and much prefer that one. Installed the ClanzDarkness one because I once used that and was testing to see how it was with vbulletin 4.0. I usually don't give option to switch and will stick with Brown once its all set and done.
vBulletin 4.0... isn't it great?
Thanks for all you do!

Thanks mate, you probably noticed i registered on your board and its not a caching problem with your browser, as i am seeing white instead of black as well.
Check screenshot.
Why this template works perfectly on my board and not yours and no doubt others is really frustrating, going to have to look into this more today.
Im wondering if this is a vB4 bug, or something really small and simple i am overlooking.

I can nearly confirm this...
On my site.. (probably my settings.. cant figure out though where to change these)
on IE8
the colors are perfect when i am in none wysiwig mode..
I confirm the dark on white when I switch to wysiwig mode...
(I dont know why !!! in IE8 when i load the page I am not in wysiwig mode (I have to click the little A/A to switch) ...
in FF I start with wysiwig mode... very strange .. has nothing to do with the template.. its the same with default template... maybe there is a setting????
ON firefox, its perfect when i switch to non wysiwig mode... and still black on black in wysiwig mode...
Strange enough on your site it seems to work.. and I am immediately in wysiwig
Also the login is perfect now...
A little new bug though.. (its tiny)
The notifications menu at the top...
When no notification...
And i mouseover the word "notifications" the little arrow of the menu jumps up... and down again when I leave...
Inside the menu..
i just have "no new messages" and a link to Inbox..
When i mouseover the Inbox.. the word inbox jumps to the right with the background...
Havent tested with notifications...
The rest is really great!!!!!!!!!!!
F.
PS just tested on your site...
Same there...
Only that on firefox.. when I start.. i get non wysiwyg mode.. (works)
when i switch to wysiwyg mode.. it doesnt...
And with IE.. strange enough.. wysiwyg mode is white on white on your site.. and black on white on mine...
non wysiwig works on both perfectly...

I can confirm that it is inf act the WYSIWYG settings that are screwing up the colors.
I've gone into my admin control panel and went to...
Settings > Options > Message Posting Interface Options
Changed the first three options to 'Enable Standard Controls'
This fixes it for all users on all browsers, but just that there are no WYSIWYG settings.

Instead of the WYSIWYG editor problem where they are getting black text on black box, on my forum my new thread/post title is messed up. It's white background but then when you click on it the background turns black and the text is black. Not only are the titles messed up on that section, contact us, registration and everything else that has an input bar, all the same, white background until you click in it to type, then it turns back with black text, no way to see whats going on. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Richie
Example of my problem can be found in my forums at: http://www.mmomadeeasy.com/forums

Ok, I added this code in:
.wysiwyg {
background-color: #000;
color: #fff;
}
It makes the "wysiwyg editor" in the post section good for the first post, black background white text. However, after you go to post again, it turn the text black also, bug? Not only that, now I deleted that code to try to make it normal again, because my forum was ok before, I just wanted black background white text, now it doesn't work at all. Everything is black on black typeing.
Additional information update:
Ok, it looks look the code edit up there is valid for admin only, when I add that code when I post as an admin it's black background is black text is white, but reguardless with our without that code, non-admin users get black background with black text. I am not sure if it was like this before I added and removed the code listed, I didn't try to post as a non-admin before that. Where can I edit these codes?
Another update:
I found it in the style variables editor, made it so that it works for everyone. I still am having trouble getting my titles back to normal. I don't know where this information would be found in variables, it was a lucky guess to get the texteditor right.

The other bugs are mostly on the usergroups page, i think 2 bugs.

Try setting this template as the default template for your board, or editing the style of the CMS manually. This is a bug in vB4

Thanks, that seems to have work. Now the only other thing I have noticed is that user log in box in the upper right hand corner. It shows in the text box 'user name' in white text, but when you go to actually type something in the text goes black. All other text boxes appear to be showing up correctly.

found 1 teeny one.. on bpbrown there is 1 dark image missing in profile..
images/siteicons/ignore.png
best seen with IE, as FF hides missing image..
But visibly it has HOMEPAGE as alt text....
As it is difficult to describe, better show with screenshots:
No profile hacks installed...
1. IE8 default style:
2. same Page.. just switched style to BPBrown:
Ah yes.. I never entered a homepage...
... That seems to be a vbbug.. the alttext is homepage in defaultstyle also, but the image is definitevely missing
Thats the only thing I found...
F.
PS: one little request for next version...
The inlinemod highlight color... it is pretty close to the comment or forum background color..
so admin has to look twice to see which post is selected... (its ok.. but a bit more different would be better)
thx again for your great work!
PS2:
I have refreshed/cleared browsing data, and even tried it on another computer. After checking some more it only appears to be doing it on the 'home' page.
@csharrow
I cannot reproduce... works fine for me on HOME (Forum home AND CMS home)

I have refreshed/cleared browsing data, and even tried it on another computer. After checking some more it only appears to be doing it on the 'home' page.
I had a similar error.. the template was suddenly displaying RTL instead LTR..
the welcome, Felix far right.. and the logout 1st on the left... the rest of the page was fine..(very strange)
When updating to 4.01 it told me to revert a 14 templates...
I didnt do that.. as I had no custom template edits.. so what I did:
1. uninstalled BP-Brown style...
Reloaded forum home..
2. Installed BP-Brown again...
And it was fixed...

All the problem I previous mentioned went away when I reinstalled this template. Now the last two problems I can see with this style is.. when you go to login to the site, the login background is black and the text is black, you can't see yourself typing in the account name and password.
Another problem, not really a problem, but a problem with me. The settings tab, when you click on this, the left-hand menu is totally different from the entire rest of the template. It's bright white and light brown writing, really hard to read. How can I fix these two things?

The language chooser and style chooser templates have white background on settings, PM etc... page...
This is a vbulletin bug!!!
Just posted a bugreport at vb.com
http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/project.php?issueid=35456
If lots of people support it.. they will fix it sooner...
Quick fix:
open USERCP_SHELL template find </head>
above add: {vb:raw headinclude_bottom}
Vbulletin says: affected version:4.01 .. fixed in next version....
---------------------------------------------------------
@Griffin..
another teeny weeny problem...
in memberlist.php?do=search
the fieldset legend text color is black.. making it hard to read...
(had a similar problem in an addon i wrote)
thats because in reset-fonts.css legend and/or fieldset color is hardcoded to #000....

Hi Griffen, thanks for the update,
One thing I've noticed... and I'm not sure if this is just my vbulletin install or if this is a problem with the theme... But the login at the top-right corner. It does not have a small square box where you can check "Remember Me". It's a minor issue but I did like seeing that there.
(Disregard this post. The issue has been resolved.)

Considering how this style is just CSS customizations and no template edits is it safe to assume that it's already functional on 4.0.2? If not, waiting for update :)

Griffin, thanks for the update.
I do see one issue with the template. I'd post this at your vbulletin-templates.com site, but I'm block from that here are work. Anyhow, I've had this minor issue since version 3.2 of this style, but I thought it was a vBulletin problem. The little "Report Post" icon tends to move down a little for everyone elses posts (not my own). The problem was gone with the upgrade to vBulletin 4.0.2, but now is back after installing the newest version of this style. Any idea? I'll attach a screenshot to show you what I mean.

Tell me if you think it's fixed, first - maybe:
http://404forums.net/forum.php?styleid=58
If you think that's acceptable, I'll be happy to export the xml, I refuse to support anything though. :p - I'm sure some things aren't entirely perfect though, and given how style authors are usually treated I'd rather not officially send anything out.
Should be noted, however, that I've changed the imagepaths to themes/BP-Brown/ rather than dumping them all in the image directory. This would have do be done on your site as well, either that or keeping two seperate directories, until the original author updates his.
For the CMS parts, the "Sidebar" stylevars control the right-hand side boxes if you feel like changing them on your own.

Sean James

Darkness has a banner across the top and borders amongst other changes. Have a look at the screenshots or the demos and you will see the differences
Would be cool if you share style 8

This would not be caused by this skin mate, maybe a plugin u installed?

I'm missing some buttons, for example the go to last post button says in text "Go to last post". I'm using 4.1.4 beta if that matters.

Hi griffin, i have a question for updating the skin, do i need to re'upload the images too or just the XML file?
BTW, thx for the update :)
Sean James

You will need to upload both. The new images are placed in both the /editor/ and /gradients/ directory

Hey,
just updated to 4.1.4 and everything seems fine except my reply box - I have a white text box with black backgroun on WYSYG mode though I changed the css to have it black! If I click to source mode I get a black box white text - am I missing something?!!
Also I use the always show advance editor on quick reply mod but it breaks it on BP Brown - other styles are fine - can I 'copy' templates from the others styles to this one for the reply box?
cheers keep up the great work

Make sure you clear your browsers cache, and upload all the new BP-Brown images

These problems are with your vBulletin installation not the style. Disable plugins and test if it still happens afterwards
