Im running VB4.0 Gold, but i get this error when trying to install a hack -

"This product is not compatible with version 4.0.0 Release Candidate 2 of vBulletin. (Compatible starting with 4.0.0 / Incompatible with 4.0.99 and greater)"

Anyone know why i am getting this error?

From my Footer -

"Powered by vBulletin™ Version 4.0.0 Patch Level 1 Copyright © 2009 vBulletin Solutions, Inc. All rights reserved"

Try to reupload files? Check suspect file version script

Make a backup then run upgrade script?

Edit the dependency line of hack xml.

Do that at your own risk, if the hack is not compatible it may cause serious issues.

in short, open the .xml file with a editor, and change the 4.0.99 to 4.28 or a figure slightly higher than you are currently using, but as seven skins above has said, this is done at your own risk.

But that doesn't solve the problem of why his version isn't reporting correctly on the dependency check.

And he'll need to edit the 4.0.0 requirement to a lower version like 3.8.0

Thanks for the support BSMedia.

Currently i am editing the XML files to - 4.0.0 Release Candidate 2 which is working fine for the mods/hacks.

But i need to solve the real issue here which is why is it doing this?

If you've uploaded all files again and it's successful in uploading I honestly have no clue.

The only thing I can suggest is to backup the current files and site. Delete them, reupload yet again and try again, you may even try to run install/upgrade.php over again, after you've backed everything up.

Is this happening with all mods and hacks or just some?
