An easy to use addon for promoting multiple threads to articles without losing time, using inlinemod. It promotes to an article the first post from each selected thread to the selected section of the CMS.
It's in Beta, so please give feedback.
Features
Promotes multiple threads to articles at once
Section selection for the publication of the Articles
Uses forum and CMS permissions
It publishes it immediately with the same date as the original post.
It doesn't allow you to promote already promoted threads and soft deleted ones.
Instructions:
Having the required permissions, on the forum display, select the threads which you want to promote by clicking on the checkbox on the right and open the inlinemod menu and select "Promote to Articles". You will be presented with a screen to select to which section you want to publish the articles in. Select the desired section and click "Promote threads".

Thank you Empire10, this what I needed.
Now I tried this but it must be " . TABLE_PREFIX . " before cms_nodeinfo for user table prefix. :)
Well would you add an option enable to select a Category as well as Section page. If that is possible it would be muti selection enable too.
Regards.
PS: Is that possible to limit preview text length while promote?

Tried this, but get this error when trying to promote many articles at once. Uninstalled for now.

This would be a fantastic answer to my problems if someone can help fix it. Tagged for future.

When I used this, it set the author to "Unregistered" for all promoted articles.

No. It's unsupported and a beta at that - it's pretty bare bones.

This worked like a charm along with the Use Orginal thread for comments Mod. The actual VBulletin promote to article has a bug that it doesn't copy the actual post date as article publishing date, which this Mod solved.
Thank you very much, it allowed me to easily migrate.

I understand what a thread or post is, but what is an 'article' in vbulletin and what are the benefits?

I'm probably a little late to this party, but I wanted to try this on VB 4.1.2 and it seems to work well with one issue: bbcode are converted as text, so when the articles are promoted you see:
Have you entered a <a target="_blank" href="http://www.mysite.com/Sweepstakes">My sweepstakes</a> before?
Instead of the actual link. If we go in and resave the article (making no changes), it will then process the link properly. Any thoughts on this?

I have multiple categories in each sections. Is it possible to have an option to promote to a specific category, just like how you can promote to a section?

Hi is this still a ongoing project or is it dead in the water?
Would love for it to work with Vb 4.1.2, thanks!
