Is there a way (or mod) to obscure email address from bots/spiders?

Yes, there is a mod. I think it is for 3.5, iirc. I think it's got the word "obfuscate" in it... so, try a search on "obfu*" in "all mods" "titles only".

I did find a little java script that I can use for articles.
I guess I should have mentioned, it's email addresses in articles I'm trying to obfuscate.
