Has anyone upgraded to v4.0 with AME disabled?

I have removed all plugins except for AME (Automatic Media Embedding).

If you select uninstall, it wants to reindex all posts and threads which I do not want to do.

If I select disable form Plugin Manager will the upgrade to 4.0 work?

I already pooched mySQL once by not removing all the plugins. I had to have the host service restore my db. Don't want to repeat that adventure.

So who has upgraded with AME disabled???

When I upgraded my test forum I just added the line to my config file to globally disabled all plugins. Then after my upgrade I disabled all plugins I had and then enabled them one by one to assess the damage/to see what modifications needed to be made.

Though I don't have this AME that you mentioned. I would have thought disabling the plugin would be enough but I'd wait for a more experienced response.

Just uninstall it. It doesn't say it is going to reindex them all.

It is saying that it will leave the tags unless you go back to teh tools page and revert them.
