I want to use the paid subscription feature, but when I set it up, I don't know where to actually go for the subscription page, and if I can't find it, then I'm pretty sure none of my members will see it. I want to add a button to the home page or the navbar to the subscriptions page. How can I do this?
Also if it's possible, I would rather do a one-time payment instead of a subscription. Is there any other way I can do this other than just setting the subscription to 500 years?

yes its hidden quite well..
Its accesable from each user CP under settings
then scroll down and find it under "my account"
If you want to add easyer link then the link is this
www.yoursite.link/payments.php
Hope it helps :D

Ha, thanks. Sorry I'm new to vB. Anyways, how do you add links to the navbar, do you know? Or could you point me in the right direction?

Did you ever find out how to make it a one time payment and it would also be nice if I could get rid of this
Validity periods marked with a * indicate that this subscription is recurring.
After the initial subscription period is complete, the subscription will automatically be renewed with a new charge.
And just have it say that it's a one time payment.
