Limited use to guests benefitial?

Just wondering if limiting the time for guests before they are required to register is a good thing. I just started my forum about a month ago and I am trying to get more members. A lot of guests are coming and going but its hard to get them to register. Would setting up a limit of how many forums/posts they can read before they are required to register help bring more members or do you think it would scare them away?

Set viewing of threads to whatever number like 20 or more.

you dont think that would scare them away or be annoying? Where in the admincp do I set that again?
