No idea if this has been posted before but i did do a search and couldn't see it.
Its a really easy little modification - it moves the Similar threads box to the TOP of the thread as being at the bottom didn't provide much traffic. Since I moved it WOW - I'm having threads revived that have been dorment for a LONG time.
Tested on vb 3.8.4 PL1
in Showthread template:
Find:
$similarthreadsDelete it if you don't want it at the bottom of the thread.
Find:
and paste $similarthreads below that.
That's it - simple :)

Well, i don't like too, in my forum i have the similar threads below the last post (well.. exactly, below the "tags" block).

The question is, do you want to have old threads to be active again?

Depends on the forum/subforums... and also, that is not the only point of doing this change... is more visible to users, and this is good... like on this forum (vbulleting.org) you can see the similar threads (in this case, mods) below the first post.
Sry for my english.

After the first post makes it look a mess and totally confusing - however you are welcome to do that on your own forum.

Moved it to under and for me seems to work quite well. Thanks for the idea!
I wonder how tough it would be to make this block stay collapsed by default. Will look for something to do that next.
