Forum Permissions Issue

So I made a new forum that I wanted viewable by only a certain set of people. So I created it and then went into the forum permissions and then Denied all. Then I went in and manually switched from default to Yes for the 5 people I wanted. The forum was created based off another forum that was for admins so the settings were all set to be hidden and such. However I posted in it and then someone that shouldn't have had access was able to post in it as well. I checked their permissions and it was set to default and I checked every usergroup they were part of and they were all set to No everything for that forum.

I run vbulletin 3.7.4 and I was just curious if there was some known issue with that or some anomaly that just happened or what.

Are you using Access Masks? Could they have been turned on and then users were added through that?

I usually just go through the User part and edit their forum permissions there. I checked the Access Masks and the person was not one of those listed to view it. And I created the forum about 5-10 minutes before he posted in it and I was the only person on at the time that could have added him.

Do you have a test user that you can test this with? Whenever I am playing with forums and forum permissions, I open up another browser (I use firefox mainly, so I'll open up Safari or Opera) with a test user that has the same permissions as the regular users and I see what they see every step of the way. Could it be that he got in there when you first created the forum and before you hit Deny All?

Nah he responded to a thread that I put up after I changed all the settings.

The only thing I could think of was all of his permissions were set to Yes or No and not to Default from what I am seeing on the Access Mask area. Even if I put everyone to deny all on the forum permissions is it Possible that his defaulted to Yes?

If you go to the Forum in Forum Permissions and click on Deny All, then no one, including you The Admin, should be able to get into the forum.

Ya and I couldn't get into it until i manually set myself to Yes through the User Permissions. I checked all his permissions and everything at the time and there was no real reason why he should have been able to post there.

What do you mean you set it through User Permissions? You should be doing it on the Forum Permissions page > find forum > click on Edit next to the usergroup. You don't do it individually.

I did it individually because I didn't have a usergroup created since the people that are supposed to be able to view it are at different levels of usergroups.
