hi all

i have a serious problem...

my forum home has 135 queries...which lead into problems with my host and asking me to optimize my site...

i dont know what is the problem...i did all optimization solutions...Vb optimize 1.3.2....disabled most of my plug ins and hacks...

so how to know where is the problem...

where is these queries and for what !!??

I have only heard of these sorts of queries happening under vBulletin 4 (which is known to generate hundreds of queries on a view request); not vBulletin 3. If you are using stock vBulletin 3 without any mods (turn-off your plug-in system completely from the vB Options panel), you should be getting around a dozen queries a page or less.

u r right Kaelon...

i have disabled all plug-ins and got 8 queries in forumhome...

there must be a bad-programmed plugin that leads into these crazy queries....

i am trying now to check for every plugin to discover which is the problem-maker :)

enable the mods one by one until you find the one(s) that produce the most queries

Not on forumhome, which is what we are talking about here (read the thread title).

If you have a test site setup that is a duplicate of your live site, you can turn on debug mode and see what those queries are and then track them down. However, on a live site it is probably best to turn off the plugins, see how many queries are run, and then turn them on one-by-one to see which is adding all the queries.

I'd be tempted just to put the site behind a .htaccess file for 10 mins while using debug mode to find the problem. Either that or look into one of the mods that enables debug mode for specific users only.
