What Gallery do you plan to use in vB4?
I used to use a modified version of photoplog. But the coder that codes that says most likely he wont be upgrading the lite version for some time if he does at all. I am not sure if he plans to upgrade the pro version or not. He hasn't set any thing in stone.
It was great software for $35
Now the Photopost/vBgallery for $150? well it is on sale for $129 right now and it does support vB4. I just think that is very high for some gallery software.
My next thing would be converting my photoplog database to what I choose to go with.
I been looking around haven't found much of anything. I been thinking of coding my own gallery system that works off of the photoplog database for my self. But I would rather not do all that work for my self. I couldn't sell it or give it away since it works off of the photoplog database.
While the album features built in to vBulletin are great it would be nice to have gallery's that all users can upload to.
Any suggestions for what will go best with vB4 to try and keep it in theme with vbulletin.

I'm staying with photopost personally as I've got thousands of photos on it and it seems to work just fine as it is.

the built in vB one is sufficient, just wish it had a mass upload in ajax or javascript like FACEBOOK where you can upload a whole folder at a time just by 'browsing' to it. This selecting 1 photo at a time isnt cutting it.

I use to use photopost then liked the integration of vbGallery better so switched (which wasn't as easy as you think it should be).
Now I use the vBulletin Albums with a couple of different mods that make it more usable. One being the mod that allows you to insert photos into a blog or forum post from your vb Albums (also worked with photopost and vbGallery). Another mod was the show All Albums mod which would allow everyone to see all the albums. This truley is the one thing that pushes so many people away from the vBulletin built in Albums is the fact you can't see everyone's albums. If they didn't want you to see them, they'll mark it private, otherwise, show the albums.

Sticking with photoplog which Morgan says the pro version will be out as soon as he is done with it once Gold is released.
"If you upgrade to vB 4.0, you will break PhotoPlog, whether Lite or Pro, so if you are going to upgrade, turn off the gallery via the ACP -> PhotoPlog -> General Settings and do not turn it on again until after a vB 4.0 compatible version is released. Again no time frame for the Lite version, and for the Pro version, it will be as soon as it gets done.
Support for PhotoPlog on vB 4.0 will not be offered until after a vB 4.0 compatible version of PhotoPlog Pro is released. At that time, the Lite version will be examined to see whether it will be made to be compatible as well.
Please do not repeatedly ask whether it is done yet. What is planned is to get Pro done as soon as possible, and given that the templates need a redo, and code will likely need to be changed, this is not going to be a half day job."

I knew all of that. Morgan hasn't released any new updates as to whats going on either. Gold should be out Monday but you have people on the Photoplog forum asking if it will be out in 2010.

Another mod was the show All Albums mod which would allow everyone to see all the albums.I must have missed this 4.0 mod, as I was looking for it. Can you point me in the right direction?

I will use Coppermine, as I did in the past few years. Coppermine works fine for me and I tried sooo many.
I also use the built in albums for private or personal pictures.

I tried coppermine, but for reasons I am yet to ascertain, cannot get the bridge to work :(
I know you have reported success with this alfisti, but it is eluding me bigtime :(

I'm hoping to use DTO Garage mod when it's updated, that's providing I can find someone to update our image uploader script as that's now unsupported

If you use the manual step by step and fill out the form for database connection, it will run.
It seems that it is very important to use the order in the manual.
Coppermine has a very good support, but you should write your problems exactly ;)

I also use Photopost.
I've used it for quite awhile now.
I have it integrated seamlessly . Photopost now lets you create a 'product' (plugins) that will show some of the images on the front (you will also have to add a "hook" in the FORUMHOME template).
It also integrates with the vbull templates easily using the config file
You can see how it looks on my website here (http://www.custompaintforum.com/forum/content/1-home?styleid=18)
Go to the forum and you will see the Photopost images which I have set at 'random'
This link goes directly to what I call the "Members Gallery (http://www.custompaintforum.com/gallery/)" (Photopost)
If you notice in the lower left hand corner of the Members Gallery, you can see where you can choose a vbull template which will change not only the vbull, but the Photopost.
I also added a border around each "Members Featured Photos" image that changes color depending on which template is used
I also added a "Members Gallery" tab
Just Google Photopost to find their website
