CANCELED: I have sold my licenses and will no longer release addons for vBulletin. I have found a new forum software that is currently in alpha testing. I plan to use it and convert all addons to it. Thank you all for your support and use of my addons. Sorry if I did not deliver exactly what you all wanted but when a great product becomes crappy then I bail before I lose anymore money in it.

Thanks and good luck to you all
Steve M

Right now there are a few bugs that I will be getting hammered out once I have them all listed and know where I have to go with the mod to fix them.

Any heads up where the bugs are Steve?
I've just installed it.

Also the same question that has been asked over and over again,
say we have a 500 MB file is this too big?

Not really, I am digging through the old thread trying to locate all unfixed bugs which is why if anyone installs and finds a bug, I ask that you report it on my site using the bug tracker. I will link the bug tracker in the first post.

In regards to file size, you can actually set the max file size in the settings. That is one thing I thought ahead about. Give it a test, if it works after changing the setting, great, but I can't promise it will as the timeout might happen from the server.

Might want to change the title of this thread to something other than Pl9-da. Doesn't make any sense at a glance. Something like "PL9 - Download Area" or whatever makes a LOT more sense :)

Um yeah, I can type it with caps all I want and it automatically puts lowercase otherwise it would look better.

EDIT: Go figure it allowed my caps to stay.

arabuser: Please try to explain that again but a bit more detail. I don't understand what your asking or wanting.

New Joe

What I don't understand is when you upload a file it gives you the option to add a screen shot, but I am unable to add a screen shot, I upload one but it doesn't show.

Why every time I upload an mp3 file it only downloads it as a text file?

Mythotical
12-13-2009, 04:04 PM
NewJoe: show me your download page with the file listed. The screenshot not showing sounds like a bug. For MP3 files, you need to add the following in your settings for the download area.

audio/mp3

EDIT: I tested and can confirm the screenshot issue is a bug. I will work on a fix, probably won't have one till Tuesday at the latest.

can you add ratio system (optional) so when the ratio system enabel the users cant download files without upload let say if someone upload 1MB file based on raito (1:1) he will be abel to download 1MB file but if the ratio was anything else such (1:10) so that mean if he upload 1mb file he can download 10mb file that what im asking for so can you add option to set ratio and the admin can set the ratio by him self.

Mythotical

That is an option I may add in the Pro version if I decide to add a feature like that.

I tried to do an upload of an mp3 file, it had around 12 songs zipped in a file, the file size was 50 MB, it finally came back with a Security Token missing message.

Mythotical
12-15-2009, 01:25 PM
New Joe: Security token missing error message? That can't be possibly the reason for not uploading it. Did you edit the max file size through the settings?

New Joe
12-16-2009, 03:32 AM
I did yes, I will try again and see if I get the same error message.

New Joe
12-16-2009, 03:34 AM

Mythotical
12-16-2009, 03:40 AM
Yep, getting it zipped up now and ready to release in a few minutes.

New Joe: Update released, let me know if you have any errors with this version by reporting to my bug system on my site.

New Joe

Ok, the file was a rar file, within it was around 12 mp3 songs, the size of the rar file was 50MB, the settings in the max file size is: 90097152 bytes
The Usable File Types I have set are: application/zip,application/rar,audio/mpeg,application/x-rar,audio/mp3, audio/mp3.rar
The result was:
Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing.

New Joe: Update released, let me know if you have any errors with this version by reporting to my bug system on my site. Will install it now, do I just need to re import the xml file over writing the original one?

Mythotical
12-16-2009, 04:04 AM
Yes and make sure you upload all files and overwrite the old ones.

If that don't fix the security token, let me know and I will look into it tomorrow afternoon.

New Joe

Ok, screen shot works great.
Just trying to up load that rar file again.

New Joe

New Joe: Try chmoding your /tmp/ directory to 0777 and see if that fixes the issue. If not then let me know and I have 1 more way of trying.

Without sounding stupid, I really have no idea how to do that or what it means.

Using FTP you right click the folder > Properties or CHMOD > left click and a new box will open > edit the box that has something like 0644 or 644 and enter either 0777 or 777 > click on OK > Done

I was playing with this but found I can't upload files with it. I was going to use it for a handful of zip files I have for download, but I continuosly recieve an error that reads:

You have attempted to upload an attachment with a file extension that is not allowed.
Please use your back button and upload the file with a different extension.

These are the extensions allowed:

image/gif,image/jpeg,image/jpg,image/psd,text/zip,text/rar,image/png,txt, gif, jpg, zip, tar

I have tried several different file types and all of them say that. Any suggestions? I have it uninstalled at the moment.

Mythotical
12-19-2009, 06:57 PM
You have that wrong on the extensions, notice how I have image/gif, image/jpeg etc. That basically is telling it the extension is that of an image with the extension of .gif or .jpeg. What you need to do is change those you have at the end to this:

application/txt, application/zip, application/gz, application/tar

You don't need to have gif and jpg as I have already included that with this addon.

Add the link above in the code box in place of your
txt, gif, jpg, zip, tar

Then it should work.

I actually added the "txt, gif, jpg, zip, tar" as a last resort. You have them listed, exactly as I do (I copied and pasted them) as an example beside the field. You may want to update your example text. ;)

I will reinstall this later on and give it a whirl. Thanks.

Mythotical

What example text? You shouldn't just copy and paste as an example without proper format and not say anything, can confuse a person such as myself. LOL

Instead of using , try ||

I was referring to this text:

Which file types do you want to be allowed when uploadings.

Separate multiple with a comma.
E.g txt, gif, jpg, zip

That is your description for the input field where we enter which file types we are allowing. Since you are saying you can't write out the allowed file types as "txt, gif, jpg, zip", perhaps you should correct the description to show the proper format.

Rich

I have tried numerous variations for input and for one reason or another, this script simply does not want to upload zip files for me. I am just going to toss together a downloads page like I normally do. I would have been done already had I done that.

Uninstalled - No offense Steve. I understand it is a beta. I gave it a whirl but in its current state it simply isn't working well enough for me to continue attempts. I will keep peeking in on its development though.

You must be referring to the install txt file. I will change it.

Also, sorry its not working for you but to prevent others from having the same issues, I need to determine what the cause of your issues may be. Are you sure its a zip file as I know rar can be used as zip files as well.

Wasn't able to do that.
When you say right click folder, which folder do you mean?
I did right click a folder but the 0644 or 644 wasn't shown,

New Joe: You didn't follow what I said, you need to right click your /tmp/ folder and check its CHMOD.

I will have an update to this as soon as I find time to sit down and work on the code more. I have one mod to update first and a new one to get released before an update to this one can commence.

I might be moving over to vB 4 soon.
I never did get this to work right though.

I currently have it 85% updated to vB4 but haven't been able to finish yet. I will release this for vB4 in the near future.

I've ran into a snag with getting a few things to display in 4.0. I'm still working hard on getting it updated and running smoothly.
