Is there any way to make the moderator log (which we can see via admincp/modlog.php) available for everyone to see?

No.
Admins are the only people to see it so they can keep an eye on their moderators, and can ask questions if there's something fishy. Posting it publicly will not work at all.

Why will it not work at all?
There must be a simple way to get the same output onto a public page?

Sure you could do it with a little bit of work. Just write a page for it and add the query to grab the contents (grab it from the admin page) and then spit out the contents using templates.

I know what he meant.
But do people really need to see errors and be laughed at for them? I wouldn't.

I'm just pointing him in the direction to do it. I would never do such a thing, but hey, it's his forum...

Thanks! (We hardly ever delete anything yet a rival person likes to spread the myth we moderate very heavily, so a public log would maybe help in this specific case.)

My two cents worth of advise that you didn't ask for.... don't cater to the one person who is trying to cause trouble. You don't have to prove anything to him. And, by making the moderator log public, you could cause your moderators to be a little shy of moderating. Simply tell the guy that you only moderate when appropriate and leave it at that.
