We are considering commissioning some new functionality for the forums which we hope would help people to find the answers to questions more easily.
The proposal is for a 'Best Reply' vote button, which is displayed in replies to posts. It can be clicked to indicate that the reply is the most useful reply to the original post. Once someone has clicked the button, it is then unavailable in the rest of the posts in the thread, as only one reply can be chosen by each person per thread. They can, however, revoke their choice and vote for a different reply at any time.
If there are any replies which have been voted 'Best Reply', there will be some indication that such posts exist, with the option to sort the posts by the best replies.
Users can then choose to sort the display of posts by the replies which got the most votes. That way, they get to see the original post and the most useful replies (as voted by members) immediately after.

What do you think of this suggestion? Is there a mod already in existance which does this?
