Could someone recommend a source to find alternative styles that have zero template changes? I'm looking for something simple for 3.8 that won't require me to reapply all customizations to the templates.

I remember a time when they were more popular, but now that I'm actually looking to use one I can only find styles that have a lot of template changes. Hrmph.

Thx!

Have you tried looking in the styles section for any. There's tons of them that don't require to change any templates. You may also try some that say they require changes and then just revert to the original template and see if it still works. I use to do that for some bacc in the vb2.x days., but I know some people that still do it for the vb3.x.

Yep, I went through all of the 3.8.x series and didn't find anything suitable. Everything had template-changes/auto-template (whatever) so I wrote them off.

Just your mention of the older vB versions gives me an idea... I'll check the older version styles. I forgot that since there are no template changes to the styles I'm looking for, it doesn't matter which version it's been released for. :)

Thx

If you like the colors on a style, download it, install it, and revert all templates. Then you will be left with the default layout but with the colors from the style.

Thanks for the suggestion! I was thinking I'd have to do something like that, but the trick is that the customized style isn't the original 'default', so I don't know how best to handle the situation.

I'll experiment. I think I canimport a new style as a 'child' for the one I'm using that has the custom templates. I'll give it a shot.
