You are really not going to make the developers want to upgrade the mods by starting a thread like this with a thumbs down. It was not recommended that you go live with vb4. Since you did, you are going to have to just wait and see if the developers upgrade their product. Please do NOT PM any of them or post in their modification threads asking if they will be upgrading though. Please see this notice regarding that - Will this modification/style work on vB4? Will you upgrade this to vB 4.0? (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=228073)

We have similar issues.
So our plan is to wait for Gold + 3months (or more) and then setup a test environment and take it really easy until all the bits we need are in place.
We have a coder so for critical bits we may just 'fix' the plugins we really depend on.
I'm thinking our plan is what a lot will need to do. In fact I can see some people delaying vB4 for 12 months or more.

Well said Lynne! vb4 beta has only been out for a short time now... coders will be looking at how their mods work but with such a big change it's going to be some time before most of us port our mods over. Also since vb4 is only in beta that code will keep changing which means some coders won't even start on upgrading their mods yet -- after all, there's not much point in doing work yoy may have to redo.

vb4 hasn't been around very long and some if not most of the mods you listed are quite large so would take a while to convert to vb4 if the mod authors are doing so. You need to give them time, if it was successful on vb3.8 the odds are it'll be put on vb4 depending on the activity of the author. Like Lynne said just wait and have a bit of patience, vb isn't even out on Gold yet and only about 15 mods have been posted so far. It's a bit like asking to have Christmas dinner on Christmas eve - a bit premature. ;)

I think many developers are waiting for vB4 gold, to release there add-ons.
All my add-ons will come, when it's gold, because atm the users are using vB4 BETA!! on there livesystem and they don't have a clue, how "dangerous" that is.

vB4 isnt even out yet, and you want mods for it? You're testing a beta of the product.

That's the main reason I haven't even started on mine yet ;). Mine will start getting updated when vB 4 goes Gold. That, and I need to learn the new code......again :(

As pointed out, the only way to download is to go back to a backup of your database you made before the upgrade.

Im pretty impressed with the already growing list of available mods for Beta3. I frankly didnt expect vBulletin.org to even open the 4.0 mod section until gold. Ive only went live with one forum on the 4.0.0 beta 3 platform, it is very new and small with no hacks installed so i had nothing to loose. But my large community is still running 3.8.x and probably will for at least a month or two after gold. Anyways id like to throw a shout out to the vB modding community. so far everything ive tested is working very well.

I am really shocked to see request made by a thumbs down :erm:
here the coders aren't paid to release their products so its really un-fortunate to see a request with thumbs down and u have a big list not a single one. If u have donated r have premium version of the add-ons I take back my words.
u should have really waited for 4 gold release, the mail had even warned that it was a beta version and it could have got probs, u should have checked with the developers as well about the same if they were intending to release or not .
Even I am awaiting for some of the add-ons, its the one of the main reason I haven't upgraded yet
sorry to hear about u to upgrade hope u hav a successful downgrade

It amazes me how many people continue to install Beta on their live forums.
Not to mention, to make a thread on here with a thumbs down at coders who post their work on here for FREE. They don't have to make add-ons and release it to the general public but they do so be appreciative. If you need those add-ons so badly why don't you either hire someone out to do them or make a donation to those coders whose modifications you rely on so heavily.

Tho appreciated, of course, a donation is a "thanks" for work done. I would not, and could not take it as a sort of payment or obligation for future versions.

I'm running a live beta forum, but my members were made fully aware that there would be glitches in the system until things got sorted out, I am running it knowing full well that there will be minimal modifications coming out, and am under no illusions that the coders will get round to it in their own time, and rightly so.
They do a triffic job quite simply for the love of it. Here's one forum owner who appreciates everything they do.

However, you I think are somewhat in a minority. A lot of people blindly update to beta, having little idea what they are doing, and then run into issues.

and then run into issues
...they then blame others for, when they should blame their own carelessness and impatience, really.

But it has been well documented for several weeks that the vast majority of the mods in Vb.3 would not work in Vb4, so if people can't read up on it before they go ahead and run Beta, then they only have themselves to blame.
There is only two mods i'd like to see upgraded for Vb4, and that is Vbookie, and the arcade, but I'm prepared to wait for as long as it takes for them to turn up.

Sub-forum manager isn't needed if you use this: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=228484 Use the second code it works :D
And there is a chatbox but with mixed results.

So very true... :)
I'm sitting on the fence myself waiting for the VB4 gold to be reaeased. Then I'm going to most likely jump in with both feet and see what new mods will be developed.
Paided the money already... Might as well move foreward... Since I can from PHPbb 3.0.5 to VB 3.8.4 now looking forward towards VB 4.0 :D

What kind of answer were you expecting?
It's like when someone asks when vB4 Gold will be released. They usually get the answer "When it's ready".
You can always code a chatbox yourself if you don't want to wait for someone to update their modification

I second this. I even have set up a vBulletin 4 Upgrade section on my forums to let the members know what is added and also give them a place to report bugs so I can report them to coders.
We lost a lot of mods, but knew we would. Slowly we're getting them back. Hell, it's actually quicker then expected. just missing a few key ones.
Now that we have the arcade compatible, it's all gravy till Gold releases and mods show up more often.
The original post is why I sometimes thing that the people behind software like vBulletin, should require an IQ test before allowing someone to purchase their product.
