This is Staff Tracker 1.0.0 for vB4 by GeekyDesigns!

What this addon does it fairly simple. In vBulletin Options -> Staff Tracker, there are two important settings. You choose the groups you want to be tracked as "staff" (by default, the default administrator and super moderator groups) as well as choose whether or not those with can_moderate permissions in the forum the post is in are tracked as well. After you have set those to your liking and saved them, use the link below the settings to build the data for current posts, and check out the results!

On the thread list in forumdisplay, there will be a new icon if any of the staff members defined by the setting above have posted in the thread. The icon will link to the first staff post in that thread.
In the showthread, there will be an icon at the top if a staff member has posted in the thread linking to the first staff post.
In the postbit, there will be a new icon on staff posts linking directly to the next staff post in the thread. If it is the last staff post in the thread, it'll have a different icon to signify that it is the last staff post.

See the screenshots to see this product in action.

Installation instructions:
Upload the included images and import the XML. Modify the settings (admincp/options.php?dogroup=gd_stafftracker) and then use the "Rebuild Staff Posts" link to build the initial data from the current posts.

Known Issues:
It is sorted by postid, not by the actual dateline of the post. This can cause confusion when a post is copied and merged into a thread containing posts that are newer by date but older by postid. I'll be working to fix this, but I feel it is minor enough and too complex to fix, so I feel it is safe to make the first release.

I don't think I've forgotten anything for this first post, so let's roll to the credits.

I like the concept of this but I only have 2 staff at the moment so can track them easily.

Witch line in the global.php script shall I change dogroup= to dogroup=gd_stafftracker?

I can find $vbulletin->GPC['dogroup'] = '[all]'; is this the right one?

Or wich line in the script shall I look for?

I get this error msg:
Warning: fetch_template() calls should be replaced by the vB_Template class in [path]/includes/functions.php on line 3780

Regards from Sebaldus

As for your first question, there are no file edits to do. The readme references "admincp/options.php?dogroup=gd_stafftracker", which is a partial URL to the settings in the Admin CP, not a file edit instruction.

As for your fetch_template warning, this addon does not have any incorrect fetch_template calls. Make sure another addon is not causing it.

Installed and work fine now.
Thanks a lot.

Go to Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Update Counters and run "Remove Orphan Posts". I thought I fixed that error, but I guess not.

Ok so it would be awesome to add "Staff Tracker" at the top where you see "replies, views, ect" Anyone know how to do that?

I'm having some trouble installing this mod on 4.0.8.

Admittedly, I'm pretty new at installing modifications, so I have a feeling I'm messing up something very simple.

I've imported the XML into a new product with the product ID of "gd_stafftracker," but I'm not able to access the product's options directly using the link provided and it doesn't show up in the options list.

Any sort of help would be appreciated.

I have one admin member, and I have no idea what he does in admincp most
of the time, will this track everything he does on the forum, and in admincp?

I've overcome my total noobiness and figured it out. :p

I can confirm that this mod works just fine on 4.0.8.

This tracks their posts in the public. not the backend.

Does this just track their posts, or does it tell you other things that they may be be doing? Clicking the find all posts link for a user would do the same thing wouldn't it?

Zachery

It tells you on the forum display that there is a staff member who has posted in there, and it also auto links to each post in a thread. It was designed to be similiar to the blue tracker for the battle.net forums.

It would be awesome if you could mod this into a dev tracker much like this:

http://www.swtor.com/community/devtracker.php

Basically create a user list of all the developers of the project and then click a link that filters down to posts only created by the people on that list.

Zachery

You could use it in the same way. Just rename the phrases.

Well as far as I understand this mod it just shows an icon next to a thread where a "staff" has posted to which you can go directly to that post, and from there click to the next one, etc, etc.

What I would like is a simple link that displays all of the "staff" posts on one page so you don't have to keep clicking on the next icon to see them.

I could be confused on what this mod actually does though but that's how I understood it.

No, you understand it perfectly. This mod does NOT do what you linked to.

I want to be able to link to a previous mod as well as to the next mod. Also the first and the last.

this is very nice mod and these suggestions above would make it even better

ability to define own phrases / pictures per group type would be also great
(instead of rewriting the plugin)
