Adds Avatar to Navbar

This addon adds for registered users their avatar to the navbar. If they have none selceted there will be shown a default avatar.
The URL to your default avatar and the height of the avatars can be set via vBulletin-Setting => Navbar with Avatar

Default avatar URL: /images/misc/unknown.gif
Default height: 60px

This modification only needs one querie.

Additional installation advices are in the readme.txt.

Not compatible with following addon:
Navbar - adds social bookmarking, notifications highlighting, & search fields (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=201758)

Other languages are in the folder translations. German and English are avaible at the moment. Just import them under languages & phrases.

Currently I?m working out a solution. I think the problem is that VBA-pages are using a different navbar?!?

Never mind I found it ...> Vbulletin Options> Navbar with Avavtar > ...Height set to 70.

The only thing is when you change the height, it changes the entire top bar across the screen, still leaving a border around the avatar.

So, If you set the Height to 100, then the whole navbar across the screen increases as well. So, nothing has changed except that you can increase your picture size with the whole navbar included.

Is there a way to adjust the size of the avatar picture only?

Are you using the version with or without TMS?
I don?t really know your style and your css. But please try to modify:

class="alt1" try to change to alt2 or navbar or just remove it.

Not really, if I can clearly understand you, you want to have only the avatar height increased and not the whole navbar?
And personally I think it would not look nice.

Go into /includes/config.php an remove the // before //define('DISABLE_HOOKS', 1);
Then save and return into AdminCP. There you can uninstall this modification.
After that add the // again and save.

What issue do you have?

i am sorry i am not a coder i dont understand much of this stuff , dont know whats wrong another admin at my forum uploaded another similar plugin for avatar but that did not work so i removed that and tried this but even this something happened i am using 3.8.4

Please remove your attachment, because you forgot to remove your password and so on :)

I seems that someone has shorten your config.php. Please open an original config.php.new and compare these two versions and you?ll see that at the end this is missed:

(okay, mine version is German :))
This has to be added you your config.php and then you can remove the // before //define('DISABLE_HOOKS', 1);

Can you please open a thread on vbulletin.com because I think you?ll get for help from them :)
Normally you only can add temporarly the line: define('DISABLE_HOOKS', 1); to your config.php and after you are finished with uninstalling the plugin remove it.

disable hooks isn't in the config file you have to add it.

Gomjaba on vbulletin.com posted this helpful article (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?196688-Disable-the-plugin-hook-system-globally) quoted below explaining how to disable the plugin system.

Disable the plugin/hook system globally

This can be helpfull if you created / installed a plugin or product which has broken your forum and you are not able to access the AdminCP anymore.

To disable the plugin/hook system open your config.php which can be found in your forumroot/includes directory

and save the file.

If you would like to enable the plugin/hook system again, either remove the line again or simply comment that line out. To do so, add two forward slashes " / " so it will look like

you simply have to remove those two " / ".

If you are able to access your AdminCP go to

AdminCP -> vBulletin Options -> vBulletin Options -> Plugin/Hook System

And set it to No to disable.

sorry it say it was your plugin "product-kolbi4.xml" it was uploaded by another admin i dont know if it was his mistake or some problem with the plug in i am calling him now to find out what actually he did

navbaravatar, as written in another Thread. The mod is still working, but the avatar is not there - maybe the path of the avatar need to be adjusted in vbadvanced.

As far as I know the problem was that CMPS uses a custom template.

If someone can provide me access to a developement site with both hacks installed, I would like to work s.th. out.

Max, I am still tinkering and trying to get rid of it. No luck yet. I have been able to modify it though to my own text and link so far. You have to modify the xml product file in WordPad where you see Kolbi and the link to his website. Then save it and install the product as an overwrite.

Kolbi, if removing your unwelcome advertisement from the bottom of my forum will put me in violation of using your product, please notify me ASAP and I will remove your product immediately and will not use any of your future products. Thanks.

I tried your suggestion but that deletes the copyright text that I want to have on there too though. :(

Many of my members have rectangle (standing or laying) avatars. These gets resized to squares, which squashes the images and looks very ugly.

What can I do to resolve this?

How can I make the avatar URL absolute instead of relative? Since the avatar doesn't show up in Photopost or Reviewpost now.
It shows well in Photopost Pro for me. But not in vbadvanced.

The "fix" is relatively simple, $navbaravatar simply needs to be globalized and luckily vBadvanced comes included with a little tool that allows you to do exactly this! Go to the following location in your browser:
Admin CP -> vBa CMPS -> Default Settings

Scroll down the page slightly, and find the "Portal Output Global Variables" settings. Note that the description here states that the '$' before the variable name is NOT required, so simply enter navbaravatar there, hit "Save" and you should be good to go.

Please add an image crop tool (http://keithics.com/blog/jquery/ajaxcrop-jquery-and-php-crop-tool), so that members can crop their avatar to a square. Without it rectangle avatars are stretched and squashed beyond recognition.

To prevent this you can limit only on thing, height or width...
I dont see how setting a maximum height or width helps. But if that would somehow help, then i think that will not affect those 100.000 members that already have an avatar. It would then only help for new avatars. or am I missing something?

i attached a screen shot for you referenceIt works on mine... I have the same arcade and have this Mod as well.... It looks on first glance that your style reverses the position of the navbar template? Making everything flush left instead of flush right? Your issue may be related to that.

For the reason that I haven't installed the arcade mod I couldn't proove it.

But it might be possible to get it working on the arcade, too.

and how?You can find out by creating a new style with no parent, and then looking at this mod through use of that new style.

actually my problem is kind of strange, the avatar is only showing when I am viewing the forumdisplay or showthread pages , its not showing in other sections like forumhome , vbadvanced cmps or my gallery !!!!

I even used a custom plugin instead of your product but it was the same , its so strange, please take a look at the screenshots and my custom plugin, I have no idea what is causing this issue.

I can provide you my templates in pm if they are needed ...
