vb 3.8 and vb4.0

i currently use verson 3.8 of the vbulletin tree, and have also purchased and upgrade to vb4.0 publishing suite for when it is released

as i has an Owned Licence for vb3.8 can i still use this on the same domain if i was to use vb 4.0 publishing suite

as i would like to use 3.8 to continue my MOODS/SKINS and templated its for 3.8 customer.


really what i am looking for if its possible is to use vb4.0 publishing suite as my main forum & 3.8 as my testing forum but still sharing the same database


is all this possible ?

No. You cannot have both a 3.8 forum and a 4.0 forum run off the same database. There are several database changes made when you do the upgrade, including several changes involving the attachments table(s) which would make it impossible to do so.

Why would you want to have a test site that isn't running the same version of software as your live site?

so if i had my vb3.8 owned licence and new vb 4.0 publishing suite upgrade licence on the same domain using 2 seperate databases

both live is this allowed


can i have vb4 live and vb3.8 for testing to create skins etc for vb3.8 customers
