This is similar to my Blogmail mod for Blogger (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=225512) which does the same thing but for Blogger & Blogger.com Blogs.

This Mod will automatically create a new Blog post on any self-hosted Wordpress (NOT wordpress.com) blog directly & automatically when a new forum topic is created.
Users can select which forums to apply this to & it also works with multiple forums.

Installation Instructions Added. Enjoy!
Oops... not my idea after all.
My idea was to make forum members have the threads they initiate on their blogs. The first post, would be the blog post and the following posts would be comments.
This would incentive users to post on forums at the same time they post on their blogs, as they would gain from it: with all the comments!
Your mod, on the other end, will post all content to one only blog which duplicate all the content of the forum. Might be useful for backup of something similar.

My mod is capable of being posted to as many blogs as possible ... therefore you gain a huge backlink & SEO advantage.
I am an SEO expert which is why I initially created this mod. I increased my traffic by over 400% using this mod properly. :)

Would use it if it supported posting to external sites not only hosted sites.

This sounds awesome! I might give it a shot.
Now I only need a mod that converts pre existing threads on vB to my wordpress. But ah well. Good stuff.

This is something I was looking for sometime now.
When the thread is created and posted on wordpress will it direct to wordpress or vb for comments?
Will this work with self hosted WPMU as well?
Does vb and wp have to be on the same hosting account?
Will this work with multiple WP installs?

What do you mean with "direct"? Each one will have its own separate comments, unfortunately...

Yes.
Does vb and wp have to be on the same hosting account?
No.
Will this work with multiple WP installs?
Yes. Just tweak the code and send to multiple emails at once.

Yes
Thanks for answering his queries :)
Just to clarify though, the mod sends an email which is then converted into a WP post (blog entry).
You can include hyperlinks to anywhere within that email (blog post) therefore you can have a line that says "This is part of a discussion on Board X. To join in the discussion, click here (http://yoursite.com/topic-url.php)"
That will then link directly back to the original topic ... I've also included a code example in the mod comments of how to acheive this :)
Now I only need a mod that converts pre existing threads on vB to my wordpress. But ah well. Good stuff.
This is achievable ... Please PM me.

Hi,
very good idea. Thanks for that and "installed". ;)
But I got some problems to get this working.
First, in step 1 what do i take for "Server - mail.yoursite.com"?
I created an email adress user1@oneofmysites.de and if want to setup a new adress in outlook or what ever i use the servername of my provider
pop.myprovider.de or imap.myprovider.de or smtp.myprovider.de.
Which one should I enter?
And Second, no mail ist send to the created mail account of the user from Step 1. I justed checked it via webmail. Or who long does it take until the email ist send? I just created a thread, waited for a few seconds and deleted it.
And the plugin should starting to work when I adjust these both lines:
case 'XX':
and
$to = "myrandomtext@yoursite.com";
isn't it?
Would be very nice, if you could give me a hint, getting this to work.

Would be kind if you could help, cause I love the idea of your hack and prepared everything.
It just doesn't work :(

Maybe you guys who are saying this does not work could provide some information or more details.
You are essentially taking your car to the garage and telling the mechanic something is wrong, good luck guessing what.

You are right, but I did it here (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=1911074&postcount=12) before. ;)
I don't want to complain, just want to get it working.:o

You can configure exactly what gets sent to Wordpress when you install ... if you've chosen to send the topic info then it'll be parsed into HTML
[*b] becomes <b*> etc.

Would it be possible to change it to send a members blogs to a wordpress blog?
For example I have my vblog and a blog on my own domain. Can I have it so that when I creat a vb blog, that it sends an email, instead of a forum post?

@hitterman Nice to hear. I also would like to use it but the coder ignores me.
Maybe you can help me getting started? I just wrote to 2 little questions here (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=1911074&postcount=12).
What was your experience there?
