I've been given control of my company's forum. It receives nice traffic ~12k uniques a day, but it's bloated. It has 208k members but I'd guess 99% of that is spam/bots. Got just 30k posts.

1) Step one: stop more spam happening
2) Step two: ???

I've always built my forums up from scratch so never been in such a position before. Shall I prune all the members that have no posts? One posts too?

What would individuals recommend I do to clean up this forum?

step one - you should turn on human verification to stop spam sign-ups.

step two - you could prune all users that haven't logged in for X days.

I've done step one already ;)

Step two, that's interesting though. The forum isn't that old though; and if old members now that it is now being managed well, they might be encouraged to come back, but thanks for your reply :)
