Requirements
ActiveCampaign Email Marketing Software (http://www.activecampaign.com/email-marketing/) version 5.0.17 or greater.
Support for cURL on your server.Overview
The ActiveCampaign Email Marketing subscription plugin allows you to specify lists from your email marketing software that users will get subscribed to if they choose "Yes" from an additional question while registering for access to vBulletin. Rather than asking them after they register for vBulletin, the plugin allows the placement of the question to be part of the normal vBulletin registration process.
If they choose "Yes," they will be subscribed to all lists you have specified in settings. They can also include their full name.
Once registered on vBulletin, they will also be subscribed to the lists from your email marketing software.
To unsubscribe themselves, vBulletin users can edit their profile options and select "No" for the email subscriptions, which will then unsubscribe them from the lists specified.
Installation overview
Create new user profile fields for Yes/No radio options, and "Name" textbox. Note the unique field names for each (IE: "field5").
Import the XML file on the Manage Products page in vBulletin admin section.
Fill in your ActiveCampaign email marketing details on the vBulletin Options/Settings page.More detailed install instructions are included in README.txt (in the download)

So this creates a mailing list that you can input into a any email server/service for your newsletters? Or just the one that you've linked to?

This would be awesome if it would create a news bulletin based upon vbulletin content.
But I am afraid that its only giving access to the email addresses of your members. vbulletin already has a userCP field where members can select if they want to receive email from the administration. I don't understand why this hack needs a second field.
I don't think the automatic bounced management, handles vbulletin email (subscriptions, etc), so while bounced email gets handled within active campaign, it does not affect your normal vbulletin email. This could result in a lot of problems because you would likely keep sending vbulletin email to the same bounced addresses, until you get banned from large email providers.
Active campaign is quite expensive, but since AFAIK there is no email marketing / newsletter application that has real vbulletin integration and complete bounce management, it would well be worth it, if this would be offered.

I'm looking for a solution like this, a tool to send a newsletter where users can subscribe/unsubscribe from. Are there some people overhere with experience using this solution?

RE: AzzidReign
This does require the 2 requirements listed - ActiveCampaign Email Marketing Software & CURL support on the server
RE: Alfa1
The first field is for the list id. We will be extending this in the future and will need to work with our own fields (rather than the receive email from admins option) as that would limit what we can do - and what we want to do eventually with this plugin. The second field was for name which is not asked for as part of the regular registration. It would not need to be a required field.
That does sound very interesting (sending campaigns based off of vbulletin content) and it would be easy to do once we found the way in which it would be best (from a user experience)
For bounces - bounces should work fine. What will happen is that vBulletin will create a subscriber as needed in our software. If that subscriber reaches the max bounces you allow the system will not send to it again. So you would only be sending to that person again if they update their email.
This is the first release of the plugin and I am sure we will be updating and adding to it in the near future based off of feedback received. So just let me know if you have any other suggestions or questions!

Very good! I was looking for this on 2 of my forums, but looks like I need to move one of my forums over to the other server since the current one doesn't support curl. Hopefully this will work with vb 4.0 too since I plan to upgrade to it.

It would be nice to be able to include the latest X threads in forums Y,Z
And the same for group threads, blogs and after vb4 is out: latest CMS articles.
See GAZ (Geek Gazette Newsletter) or Commbull for examples:

So does your software handle vbulletin bounces as well?
And if so, then does your software delete vbulletin thread subscriptions and other vb subscriptions when a member reaches the max amount of bounces?
How does the member get alerted to update his email?
Will the members account be moved to a new usergroup (awaiting email confirmation) until the member updates his email?
For more information please read what EZ Bounced Email Management for Admins (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=138884) does.

Currently it does not take any vbulletin content - it allows vbulletin users to manage their subscription to an email list. This could possibly be added in a future release though.
So does your software handle vbulletin bounces as well?
No - bounces are only managed from the email campaign side. And not from vbulletin emails. This is an interesting idea though.

vbulletin sends out a mass of email. Not stopping that when bounces are detected could cause severe problems.
Please consider to add such functionality, because without it, I can not use your software. I must be able to manage vbulletin email bounces.

vBouncer (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=83486) does what you want. Works in my 3.8.x version

Hi there, and thanks for this mod.
I'm curious - in the List ID field - is this a numeric value or just the alpha name of the list we have in the Active Campaign admin panel?
For instance, if the name of my list is "Panda Bottle", do I use this as the List ID in the vbulletin settings?
Also, do the users get added to the AC lists before or after they confirm their registration at my site?

I am thankful & excited to have this plugin, though I know nothing on how to use it. Looking forward to making the best of it momentarily =)

Hi
I have installed the plug in but I do not know what to fill in the following fields
Your software URL
URL of your ActiveCampaign Email Marketing software, IE: http://mysite.com/email/
List ID's (comma-separate for multiple)
What list(s) should the user be subscribed to upon completing the vBulletin registration process?
The field name for "Yes/No" radio options
What is the field name (IE: field5) for the "Yes/No" radio options? (See the section User Profile Fields > User Profile Field Manager)
The field name for "Name" text box
What is the field name (IE: field6) for the "Name" text box? (See the section User Profile Fields > User Profile Field Manager)
