Rebuild Post Cache refreshing

Hi
When I press rebuild post cache button , there's an empty page without the page numbers as it used to be updating. Instead just there is a
Processing complete link that does not work and the page continues refreshing. I think this rebulding process is active all the time because when I remove some codes by means of cleaner.php (from Impex) there is no need to rebuild cache myself. The changes are shown right after the cleaner runs. This seems to put a heavy pressure on the servers. What can I do ?
