The gap in this one between the logo and top. I can't figure out how to fix the gap

This is the css for the div containing your logo:
#logo {margin:39px 0 12px 38px;}
Change the top margin (39px) to the value you want.

As for the lorum ipsum text, I can only guess that is in a template - it isn't default vbulletin so I really can't say for sure. Try a Search in Templates for it.
