Where to paste adsense code in footer?

I want to put an adsense banner in the footer of my forum. I don't really need a mod, I just want to drop the code in the footer template just above the contact us - forum - archive - top menu. Can someone tell me where to put my code? Which file & where?

open the footer template and paste the code at the very top.

Or use one of the built in ad location templates for the footer. You can find both in the style manager
