links to profiles, not showing/working...

One of my members tried to post a direct link to another members profile at out forum, he posted a link that looked like this:

http://www.mysite.net/member.php?u=34

now the problem is, the link doesnt show up in the post. Upon some testing, i have found that if you edit the post, the link is there, but when you save the post again, nada, the link to the profile disappears.

I have tried searching both here and at vb.com and couldnt find anyone who's posted with a problem like this.

It appears it is only limited to links to a profile, in a post. the links in the postbit work and show correctly and if you quote the post the link shows too.

I have also disabled all mods via the config.php, and created a new default style with no parent style and the problem still occurs.

Any suggestions as to what the problem might be?

If you've disabled all your mods, are using a default style and the default php files, then I can only think it has something to do with your server - maybe a mod_security setting. I suppose you can look at the rules for mod_security on your server.
