View Full Version : vB4 and vB4 Suite Update

vB.Org System

Just a quick update to let you know that we have released Alpha3 of vB4 to the Alpha testers along with the first Alpha version of the vB4 Suite (which we are calling an 'alpha3' version because it contains the latest fixes to the forum functions as well.)

As most of you know the Suite contains the new CMS. Since this is a first look it understandably has some rough edges but the Alpha testers are already providing useful feedback regarding this.

I thought so but couldn't remember I very rarely visit that site now people complain no matter what info you give users. Maybe when VB5 is in the works be hush hush and just announce it is released? :D

Why all the sad faces? I'd rather have a stable gold release than a buggy release. If you pursue faster updates the faster upgrade versions will come meaning shelling out 180+ USD per year which can hurt ones pocket on free forum.

I still don't see Invision Power Board ever beating vBulletin. Maybe in 2020.

It already has an edge, and it's gaining more steam. I am in the process of moving all my forums future forums to IPB...and I think a lot of people will be doing the same.

I remember it was just a few years ago that VB was the no questions asked top dog. But how do you go 5-6 years with no real significant changes to your product when the competition keeps getting better and better. VB is lucky to have all of these developers releasing the mods they do, because without them, they would be far behind.

Truthfully, i have NEVER liked IPB. It always looked cheap, poorly designed and easily hacked. That is, until i just took another look at it. I must say, it has gone from el-cheapo to muy caliente!

Now im not one to jump brands often and i will stay loyal to VB until i see VB4. I have a lot of faith in the VB teams and i know they will deliver an amazing new experience. Now, if they dont, i wouldnt mind testing some IPB boards.
