automatic IP banning

I'm having some issues with spammers on my board. They often register multiple accounts with the same IP address. I can add their IPs in the User Banning Panel, but is there a way to have it automatically block the IP addresses of the users that I ban?

I'm sure I saw a modification that did this.

I just had a quick scan and didn't find it - look through the modifications section.

There is a mod that will do it called One-touch Spam Ban & Cleanup. The author of the mod died of a scuba accident a while ago, but the mod is still here. However, in order to get it to work in 3.8, you need to do a couple of edits that are posted in the thread. So, read the thread prior to installing the mod.
