I am would like to reboot my dedicated server (linux, plesk, centos05) so technicians can check if both drives in RAID1 are up and running.
Question is. Is there any precautions to take before rebooting, or is it "uncomplicated" to reboot.

Well, you don't reboot if you want them to check the drives, you need to shutdown.
1. Close forums
2. Take backup of db and dl to your puter at home (Due to typical underpaid/moron techs messing with your raid array)
3. Shutdown main services (sql & crapache etc)
4. Issue cmd from shell prompt "shutdown -P now" & hit return

That will poweroff the machine and not reboot like wanted ;)
shutdown -r now
would it be.

Well, seeing as they are going to check the array, you can leave it powered on and see how far you get, but thats up to you.
I doubt the tech will be sitting there waiting on the reboot.
